Hi,

I just bought this magazine over lunch, and was wondering if anyone else out there had it, and, if so, had tried anything from it yet. I haven't looked at it much yet, but thought I'd pick it up. I haven't been much for buying magazines lately, but wanted to get something small to put me over a certain dollar limit so I could use a coupon, and this looked like a decent choice. :) I'll have to check it out over the weekend!

Let me know how the recipes look, Natasha - are they new recipes, or are they from old Canadian Living issues? I may have to get my mom to send me down a copy :) .

Hi Clara!

I have a feeling that most or all recipes are from old issues, the way the CL supplements tend to be. I don't recognize most of the recipes, since I have missed a few years of Canadian Living, but recognized the squash curry recipe in there. There are 150 recipes or so in the issue, too, so I guess that would be too many new ones for them to come up with. (Too bad, isn't it? :)) I still enjoyed reading through the issue and have come up with lots of things I'd like to try. Let me know if you want more info!

I actually ordered this last week from their site, so I can't say how it is so far. I'm looking forward to receiving it as I love all their recipes. I've been a subscriber for many years and have a lot of the cookbooks, so I am expecting the recipes to be repeaters. But that's okay! :D Have you tried anything from it yet?

I picked this up last week and think it looks great! I have tagged about ten recipes to try.
I love CL recipes- I do recognize a few but many are new to me! (but I have a short memory!):)

I also picked this up last week but haven't made anything from it. Hopefully when we do we will post our results. Some of the recipes look delicious.

So far I've made the Corn Chowder and the Black Bean Chili with Avocado Salsa. The corn chowder was fine, but after I made it, I decided I didn't want something that tame, so to speak, so I added some salsa and lime juice and liked it better. It was still good, if nothing grandiose, and was very quick to put together.

I liked the chili more. The chili itself is nothing you guys wouldn't have thought of yourself, but the avocado salsa made all the difference. I loved the salsa, and would eat it on its own. ;) I substituted green onions for the red onion in the salsa, but other than that pretty much stuck to the recipe.

I'd love to hear what others have made out of this, too, and what you thought!
