Was watching the Food network yesterday and this commercial came on for Ragu quick meals and it featured this quick cookie recipe:

1 C peanut butter
1 C brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1 C chocolate chips (I used half a bag)

Mix all together and drop in balls on ungreased cookie sheet. I baked mine at 375 for about 12 minutes or so. They were quite tasty for a quick snack and very easy to make, but watch them good, they will look uncooked one minute and they'll be burned the next!!! I think they get quite "brown" though with being mostly peanut butter and brown sugar.

This looks like the kind of thing you could whip together if you were having an emergency sweet attack- which I seem to have frequently! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing the recipe! I love peanut butter, although usually peanut butter cookies are not "peanut butter-y" enough for me. This one sounds good, though! But where are the chocolate chips?

I make these all the time. There was a recipe for them in Family Circle a while ago. They are ds1's absolute favorite. I put in a cup of chocolate chips. One tip: Let them sit for a few minutes on the cookie sheet or they will fall apart when you try to take them off.

So does this make a chewy or a crisp cookie? I don't like my cookies crisp? Wow, I can't believe that there is not flour in this...

I would classify them as more crisp than chewey.

Thanks. I found a recipe on Southern Living that has condense milk in it. Surely those should be more moist than crisp.

If you don't like crisp cookies you probably wouldn't like these as well. I would say when i'm lazy and don't feel like creaming the sugars, mixing in the dry ingredients, etc., then I make these, quick and simple and tasty!!

Man, these really did hit the spot. I just pulled them out of the oven. They smelled so good, I just had to try one. I burnt my tongue, but MAN was it worth it. YUMMERS!!!!!

Mmmmmmm.... these were yummy. So easy to whip up and the peanut butter to chocolate ratio was perfect! Very addictive. I also couldn't wait to pop one in my mouth when they came out of the oven, but I think they tasted even better after they cooled a bit. I know someone with celiac disease that is just going to love these cookies! I can't wait to drop by her house with a batch of these.... Thanks for posting this recipe! :)

I didn't do the truffle cookies from the commercial, but I did try the Upside-Down Pizza Bake thing. It was really good and really quick.

The commercial said to use Ragu with Meat, but I just used regular Ragu and added my own meat (you could use your own sauce, too!) But all you do is put the sauce (with or without meat) in the bottom of a 2-qt. baking dish, top with a layer of defrosted (and drained) frozen spinach, 2 cups of mozzarella cheese and cover it all with Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough. You seal the edges of the crust to the dish and bake at 350° (I think) for about 30 min. It was quite yummy!

Next time I make them (after I hit Target for the peanut butter!) I'm going to use the crunchy peanut butter, I think that will be YUMMMMMY! Anyone use crunchy yet?? You can't beat these cookies for EASY EASY EASY. :D

Okay, I tried the peanut butter kisses from SL's website. It was the one that used condensed milk creamed with the peanut butter. I liked the flavor and the texture was a bit different, but I think that it's because of something I did. BTW, did I mention that I used white chocolate chips? I think that I used too many.

What's the difference between Bisquick and flour? I called for 2 cups of Bisquick and I used a cup of flour. I figured that if I added anymore flour they would dry out and lose the flavor.

Your thoughts?

I guess I'll try them again with Bisquick.

Bisquick and flour aren't interchangeable. I believe Bisquick has some leaving ingredients and fat in it.

Thanks Linda.

I've never used Bisquick so I didn't know. I just knew that I didn't have any wasn't ready to head out in the cold to go get it. Thanks again.

I made these tonight, primarily for a friend who has a wheat allergy, but also because I was extremely curious how these would turn out!

These are quite good... surprisingly so, and a perfect treat for someone who can't have flour. I think my friend will enjoy them. But since I don't have a wheat problem, I think I'll stick with the more traditional cookie for myself!

Lynn :)

Speaking of Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookies...Mrs. Fields stores used to carry a cookie called Peanut Butter Dreams...they had white chocolate chunks in them. I saw a recipe for somthing that sounded similar(in an ad I think) a few weeks (maybe even months...) ago and meant to copy it and forgot...anyone know what I am referring to??? I have a friend who was CRUSHED when they stopped making these and would love to surprise her...

Thanks!

Just happen to have a box of Reduced Fat Bisquick handy. It's basicly flour, "partially hydrogenated soybean and/or cottonseed oil", lactose, baking soda, salt and buttermilk.

:D

I just made a batch this morning and they really are good. I did make a few changes, though. Used half butterscotch chips and added a teaspoon of vanilla. I have a habit of putting vanilla into everything.

Thank you for noticing my new and improved Goldfish :).

They have a very peanut buttery/crumbly/rich oaty texture. I'd definitely continue to add vanilla and the chocolate/butterscotch chips really kicked it up. I actually used the shortening/margarine combination rather than shortening/butter, so texturally, these cookies were really bad-for-you good, if you know what I mean.

I'll probably send the rest to work with DH, because I ate too many and now have a stomachache.

Now I need to make these flourless ones :).

I know, these look dangerously easy.

But Claire your next assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to make that crock pot fudge peanut butter thing - you need to get your crockpot back!!!
