View Full Version : Problem with Polenta Lasagna Post?

http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/confused.gif Maybe it's just me, but I seem to be having a problem reading all the replies to the post about the Polenta Lasagna. Yesterday I did a search to find old posts about that recipe, and I put in a reply. The message came up on the active board, but I couldn't see my reply. I figured maybe there was just a delay and it would come up later. Today I tried to post something new about it, and I can't see that reply either. Any suggestions? Could the problem be because it's an older message? Or am I just doing something wrong? I'm SURE it's not that I'm going crazy and only think that I actually wrote replies! HELP!

I have noticed a delay sometimes, a thread will say it has 3 replies and only two listed so I just refresh that window.

What you need to do is click the "REFRESH" button on the toolbar. Hope that helps.

The problem is due to a time saving device built into most browsers. When you pull a web page up, your browser temporarily saves that page on your computer. So when you go to that same page again, instead of pulling it off the website's server (which would take more time), the browser pulls the page up from the temporary file it created. By hitting refresh, you are telling the browser you want it to go back and pull that page off the website server again.

I have gotten in the habit of always clicking refresh after I post a reply to a message.

I have had problems with that delay before, and I have learned to hit refresh to see the new messages. But I did that on this message and it didn't work. I even came back the next day (after logging completely off the computer) and couldn't see the message I had posted the day before.

But maybe it was just my computer. I was at work, and now I'm at home and can see the other replies I posted to the original message just fine. I'll have to check at work again Monday to see if my computer is doing something screwy.
