I see the archiving elves have been hard at work.

Just so we know, what was archived? Offhand it looks like your cut-off point was January 30 of this year. Might that have something to do with why the search function wasn't working properly? As I recall, the last time Maelynn did a major archiving we had the same problem. (Perhaps while things are "in transit" so to speak?)

On the same line, will we be able to bump up old threads/recipes? Because i can't right now and its making me cranky:D

Kayaksoup,

No, you cannot bump up archived threads. In the past, when too many active threads have slowed the performance of the site, threads were archived. Really, it shouldn't be that big a deal. Just post a link to the old thread and start a new one.

PS Jennifer,

If you get around to reading this thread, because so many of the newer members have never been through the whole archiving process, it really might be helpful to post a sticky to explain what's happened and how to deal with it. We "old-timers" have endeavored to make explanations when we can, but a sticky would be helpful to have till everyone is apprised of what's happened.

Thanks for the clarification Gail. Guess we can't have infinite amount of space, eh?

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. I'll go in and fix that. It was supposed to archive 2001! Thanks.
