Anybody in traing for a marathon?
I completed my first marathon about a year and a half-ago, and I was thinking of trying to do it again....

Hi Escher,
There are a number of runners on the Virtual Running Buddies threads who are training for marathons -- for some it is their first, and others are quite experienced. We love new people to join our weekly thread, you will find a lot of help and support there as well.

bride - et al. I'm here. Passed through the other day and saw Laura's comment.
FWIW - I'm working on my 6th since November 2000 - next race is April in Boston (but I'll be running at the Shamrock Marathon in Va Beach as a long run in about 4 weeks). I'll help with any questions that you may have about training etc. I've done all kinds of strange and testing marathon programs so I have a little bag of tricks to get ready for them.
Happy trails,
Les

From one Leslie to another...
Certainly will let you know the number. I think I'm getting even more jazzed about the race every day.

Escher - which marathon are you thinking of?? I'm doing a 1/2 in May and want to find a full for fall. Definitely check in over on the Virtual Running Buddy boards. We have folks training for Disney, Ottowa and Boston, and a few that just finished winter thons.

Hi Terri - I've thought about doing Chicago off and on. Some years it seems insane because it's so large. Other years, I think the "bigness" of it might be kind of fun. One timing issue is that DH's Ironman is in Mid-sept. So, I'm hoping we'll both be relaxing in Europe with lots of wine and cheese somewhere come October :-) Ooohh...maybe I should look at autumn European marathons?!

Bumping back to the top...
Boston Bib numbers are out - I'm sporting #7414.
More information about the Boston Marathon can be found at the Boston Athletic Association (http://www.baa.org) website.
Peace,

I'm thinking about doing the one in Chicago... I saw an advertisement for it at the Detroit Marathon, and my gears started turning....
I think I'm definately going to try to do one a year from now on....
