It seems like I just wasn't meant to make this recipe. I just went to three stores to find the twisty corn bread sticks and I can't find them. Any other suggestions? I saw the Pillsbury "grands" cornbread muffins. But they are the big puffy round ones, not at all bread sticks. Do you think these would work?
Thanks so much

You can make cornbread from a mix or your own recipe and then just pour it on top. You won't get the lattice look, but the taste will be the same.

Oh, and please don't give up on this recipe, katygirl. It is one of our all-time favorites.

I don't think the cornbread really has to be on top either. I'd just make corn muffins to go with it if you can't find the twisty ones to go on top. As someone mentioned before, they get soggy when you reheat them anyway.

I also was not able to find the cornbread breadsticks, but I just used regular breadsticks on top and my hubby gobbled it up!
