I am looking for a foolproof rice pudding recipe. I have tried so many over the years and can't find one I like. I have to confess, my favorite is a brand called "Kozy Shack". It is available in the refrigerated section of the supermarket. That is the tast and texture I am trying to achieve. I definitely don't like the ones that are "eggy". I would appreciate a tried and true family favorite recipe. Thanks!! Everyone is always so helpful! I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!

I love rice pudding and this recipe has always been my favorite. Althought I do want to try the CL posted recently on their homepage under puddings. Has anyone tried that one yet?
Rice Pudding
1/2 gal. milk
1 cup water
1 1/4 cup long grain rice
dash salt
1/8 cup of sugar
1/4 stick of butter
Mix in large pot to bubble boil (28 min)
Mix and add:
2 eggs (4 if you want it thicker)
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp. of sugar
1 tsp. of vanilla
Remove from heat, empty in large bowl, and cover with clear wrap. Chill and serve.
I have to say when I make this I do eat some of it warm. I just can't wait!!
One thing I LOVE to do is add a little amaretto (to taste) to the rice pudding. Very tasty!
