We are looking to replace our stove and have narrowed it down to 2 options - the ge profile dual fuel range or the maytag gas gemini? Which is a better choice?

But you need to realize that the broiler is in the top warming oven and there is no broiler on the larger bottom stove. But we have an extra stove in the basement if needed. I love the warming oven on top and use it the most for the two of us!! Natasha? She has one also.

I just wanted to say that I have GE products in my home (microwave, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, hot water heater) and will never purchase GE products again. Lousy quality. Each item has been repaired at least 3 times, and my repair guy giggles every time he comes over. He hates GE as well.
I know that Wallycat has a GE aversion, too - I think. So make sure you get a good warranty.

Well, that's very strange. We have the Gemini as well, and we have broiler elements in both the top and bottom ovens. Susan, I wonder if mine is an older (or newer?) model than yours. We've had ours since September '02. Also, the top oven on ours isn't a warming oven as we can bake, broil, etc., in it just as we can in the lower oven.
Having said all that, we LOVE our Gemini and would buy another one in a heartbeat. All our friends have serious stove envy. :D

I myself took the leap and have had my Gemini since November and I LOVE it. The upper oven is almost standard width, and high enough to handle quite a lot. Now I can roast my salmon and have oven fries, or roast beef and grilled asparagus - or a long-cooking dessert I want to take fresh from the oven, plus an oven needing entree.
Did I say that I LOVE it?
I also love the design of the gas cook top. The burner grates create an almost flat surface to drag pots across. There is one extra-powerful burner that brings a pot to boil very quickly. The control pads are great, and are designed sensibly. There are two timers, so it's easy to keep track of things in each oven.
Enjoy it if you get it!
I have the Gemini also and I love it. There is a rear burner with a special simmer setting... Nice low heat!
I use the top oven for all sorts of baking (it is only so high, you are limited in what you can put in there). I like the timer console and having two timers is great.I'm thrilled with it.
Now if only I could have a new refrigerator...

Thanks for the input!! I really like the double oven feature of the gemini - and when they come out with dual fuel - it will be the best of both worlds! I wasn't too crazy about how the bottom door nearly hits the floor when open and really want convection - but I don't have wall space for wall ovens.
And bad experience with GE products does make me leery of a purchase - I can get a very deep discount on GE products through my job which is very attractive but if repair costs in the long run add up - where is the savings?
I definitely plan on paying for extended warranty for whichever manufacturer we decide upon as I have learned from experience with my KA stove that I am replacing - didn't get the warranty and the oven needed repair 3 times (after the warranty of course)...it is now 7 years old.
Gee, I've had my GE Monogram since 1998 and I just love it. It's a dual fuel range, with gas burners and two ovens (1 convection, 1 regular) with a griddle, and I've never had a problem with it. I liked it so much that I bought a GE Profile refrigerator to match last year.

I don't know how to post a picture, here is the site.
Casey I hear you about the bottom oven, I saw that in the store where we bought it. Truthfully, I mostly use the top one. It was great at holidays to have both ovens. I also thought about the dual fuel, but got the gas one. Love the continuous grates, I can get three pans in the back, I actually took them to the store to try it. Let us know what you decide.

We had the Gemini in our last house and I really liked it. I have a fancy, giant Dacor oven now with duel fuel and convection and I have to say I would take the old Gemini back in a minute! I never ever use the convection and the temp is about 20 degrees to low. I do like the gas top though.
Anyways, back to the GEmini- the double ovens are genius!! It never bothered me that the bottom door was so low. The electric top really heated up and deheated quickly making it really easy to control your temp on the stove top. Good luck with your choice!
