Did anyone else see this in the Sunday supplement this morning? There is an article about how chocolate can actually be good for you and included was a recipe for a chocolate cake made w/beans instead of flour. I just can't even imagine what this would taste like. Has anyone ever tried anything like this? Seems like someone posted about cookies made w/beans awhile back....just curious. I eat very healthfully but this just seems to "over the top" for me. If you want cake, eat cake. If you want beans, eat beans. :-)

A friend gave out loaves of bread this Christmas that she called Picnic loaves; seems the key ingredient was baked beans. While the bread had a good flavor it was very dry. So with this cake recipe do you use dry beans that are ground to take the place of the flour? Because someone that has an allergy to wheat might in fact benefit from such a recipe.

I saw that recipe and it called for a can of garbanzo beans.

I'm sorry. I'm for healthy eating but I believe you should get your fiber from other sources. Leave chocolate cake alone! I believe our society has gotten so obsessed w/ eating healthy and dieting that we've lost the ability to relax and enjoy food. You should eat right most of the time but don't deprive yourself of a fried meal or piece of rich cake every now and then. Everything in moderation.

Yes! I saw this recipe, too! It looked like such a nice Valentine's cake. I can only imagine making it and presenting it to my husband only to have it have some weird texture. No thanks, we'll keep the beans with the entree and out of the dessert.
