I posted this on the Other Stuff board, but I was hoping more people might see it over here. I hope I'm not breaking any rules.
Some of you may remember that I posted some information about Rachel Cooke, a friend of our family's who disappeared after her morning jog in January of 2002. Unfortunately, because Rachel was 19, and not considered a minor, the family was not able to get any help from law enforcement for several days following her disappearance. The family had to organize their own search efforts with the help of a local volunteer group. Unfortunately, Rachel has not been found.
Since her disappearance, Rachel's family has worked to increase community awareness about missing people, organized free monthly self-defense courses in and around Austin, Texas, and lobbied in Texas and in Washington on behalf of missing children and adults. Robert and Janet have also helped numerous families search for their own missing loved ones and have formed the Rachel Alert Network (RAN) to provide resources for families of abducted persons.
Rachel Alert Network is publishing a cookbook in June 2004. All proceeds from the cookbooks will go to sponsor RAN events such as M.U.S.T self-defense and awareness classes and to help families of missing persons.
If you would like to submit a recipe for the cookbook, please e-mail the recipe to: cookbook@rachelalert.org by May 15, 2004.
The organizers have asked that recipes be submitted using the following format. Up to 10 recipes may be submitted per person. The recipes can be combined into one e-mail if you like.
Your name and state (or country)
Recipe name
Ingredients and Quantity of Each
Directions
Servings
Optional message or notes about recipe
For more information about Rachel, see her website at

Thanks!
Robyn
