I have always wanted to be able to bake bread. When I was a kid my parents didn't care too much what I did in the kitchen as long as I cleaned up afterwards. I remember trying several times (unsuccesfully) to bake bread. Now that I am all grown up I thought I would try it again, hopefully with more sucess. You guys seem to know quite a bit about baking so I thought I would ask if there are any helpful hints that may help me out? I don't own a bread machine and don't have any plans to buy one. Any help that you may give will be greatly appriciated.

Bread Macines are too cool!!
No kneading, no watching, waiting!
Following directions carefully are the only precautions to watch. The pre-packaged mixes work splendidly and are cost effective when found on sale.

Here is link to a prior thread. You may get some pointers from it. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/Forum1/HTML/003564.html
I use a bread maker for the kneading part then finish off in the oven.
