I know this is a cooking board but I just had to share my "new" find. Off and on there are threads about making the perfect crabcake or what constitutes a good crabcake. Well, I've found one to buy!

Every year my family and extended family spend a week at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. My cousin goes much more often and checks out the food. Last summer she went to a place there called the Crabcake Factory and had the "best" crabcake ever. She went there twice and it was consistently good. I didn't go to the beach last year and yearned for a crabcake. None of the restaurants around here make them to my standard and the crabmeat at the grocery store is not high quality. Well, my cousin made another trip to the beach last weekend and, once again, ate at the Crabcake Factory. While there, she noticed they had a website. We got online and found a myriad of ways to order these crabcakes. They are uncooked, frozen, and vacuum packed. I was skeptical. We ordered the 12 pack of 5 oz crabcakes. With shipping it came to $148.00!! Works out to $12.33 per crabcake. Comparable to what you'd pay in a nice restaurant. Well, they came within 48 hours packed in dry ice via Fedex. I cooked them as described and they were absolutely delicious, filling, rich, minimally seasoned, no fillers. About as good as a Maryland crabcake gets. They claim to be one of few places to have a true Maryland crab crabcake.

If you're interested, check out www.crabcakefactoryusa.com. It's worth it for special occasions. They also have internet specials. And, no, I don't work for them!
