Has anyone watched the Naked Chef on the Food Network? I enjoy it because he is not the usual cooking show host. The camera work is jumpy and edgy- takes a little getting use to! Todat he made a wonderful looking Thai Chicken Curry. I love his flat too! In addition he is not too hard on the eyes! Has anyone tried any of his recipes. My two teenage daughters have take a sudden interest in cooking as well!

weird as his show is, i like watching it! (maybe its cause i lived over there for a few yrs)The camera angle is very strange, wish they'd hold still! lol But i like how they made his show.

I have not tried any of his recipes.

I would LOVE to have a mate that loves to cook like ANY of the tv hosts, but Im stuck with a dh who does nothing in the kitchen, ~:0(

The cookbooks are good as well. I bought his second "The Return of the Naked Chef" and I find it very usefull for creative and healthy recipes.

I'd like to see him - Naked!

He works with fresh, simple ingredients and I'm going to check out the recipes on The Food Network website. His enthusiasm for cooking is contagious.

I've tried one, but I'm at work and which one it was escapes me at the moment (g) I do have a curry one printed that he did that I intend to try but I'm still tracking down a couple of ingredients. I know I can get them online but I'd prefer to find them locally.

does anyone know where the "naked chef" came from? Seems a strange title and I wish that he would look AT the camera instead of away, like he's talking to someone...but yes, I do find his show interesting AND he's so youngggggggggg to have his own show and be a chef!

He's called the naked chef because he "strips recipes down to the bare essentials."

And Leslie, wouldn't it be fun one day to see him do the same! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

I received a copy of his 1st cookbook for Christmas and he has some really good recipes in it-a few are on my "to try" list.

I now want to try making pasta because he makes it look easy -something I have been too intimidated to do.

I have not seen "The Return of the Naked Chef" but I'm looking forward to checking it out. I do wish that they would hire a new camera person as the camera moves around too much and the "quirkiness" gives me a headache!

Wendy,

Were you referring to the book or the show when you mentioned how he makes pasta making look easy? Does he use a hand-cranked machine, or what? I loooove fresh pasta, and would love to make my own, as well.

Emily,

I am referring to his book although I have seen him make pasta on his show as well. He uses a hand crank machine, but you can roll it out by hand too. He has some interesting flavors like beet.

I am tempted to get a pasta roller for my Kitchen Aid mixer, but they are over $100 so I'm considering the discs since I already have the food grinder that they work with.

I know that the hand machines are reasonably priced but I have to be careful because my collection of kitchen toys will take over the house soon http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/eek.gif!

PS In an article that I read about him, it said that he is married to a model-doesn't that just figure?

He must have just got married because in a recent show he was making a dinner for his girlfriend. I feel like a teenager talking about her first crush. My first crush was on David Soul from Starsky and Hutch! Boy am I showing my age! Do you know what it is I love most about watching male chefs? Not only are they doing something my husband would never do - cook, but I love it when they role up their sleeves and show their muscular forearms. Am I straying too far from the original topic? I think I need a reality check. I hear a baby calling me.
