What's your favorite cleaning tip for the kitchen? Mine is when I have a dish with baked or burnt on food. I fill it with water and throw in a used fabric sheet softener and let it sit overnight. In the morning you just whip it clean.
I also swear by baking soda to clean off countertop stains!

A cordless electric broom - I like Eureka, and a bottle of Fantastick. Every night after supper I whip both of them out and go to work. Takes 5 min and it keeps the dirt to a manageable level. I also throw my sponge in the dishwasher when I run a load. Great for sanatizing. Oh, and I never fry food. Besides the fact that it's not a healthy way to cook it also makes a big mess!

Clorox Cleanup is my favorite cleanser. It takes off everything, and I know that I'm killing any nasties to boot.

Also, when I fry, I lay down newspaper and I put newspaper in the cupboard door, so that any grease goes onto the paper which is just gathered up and thrown away. It's actually not too bad for you if done properly. Correctly fried food picks up a remarkably small amount of oil. Also, simply fry in a more healthful oil, like safflower or grapeseed.

Chefmom is right. I should clarify. When I meant fry I mean deep fry. Using lots of oil. Which is unnecesssary and a pain to discard.
