Our anniversary is next month and for my gift to my DH, I'd like to hire a chef to come to our home, prepare, and serve a gourmet dinner for us. I've searched online and found lots of personal chefs, but I'd really like to find someone tried and true. Any recommendations out there?

Sometimes a restaurant chef or caterer would come to your home. That might let your broaden your search. Good luck. It sounds yummy!

Sorry I don't have any personal recommendations or experience, but have you checked out the website for personal chefs? Here's the link (http://www.personalchefsnetwork.com/)

Good luck!

Kayla - yes, I have checked that website, and others, but what I'm looking for is a personal recommendation. Thanks anyway. :)

I don't have any recommendations for your area but I did the same thing for DH's christmas gift last year. I found ours at the following website: http://www.hireachef.com/

We had a great time w/ our personal chef. I "spoke" with him often via e-mail and we constructed a great Italian menu. I planned the day w/ our chef as a lesson session on Italian cooking and while the meal finished cooking DH & I enjoyed a nice glass of wine and then the chef served us our meal in the dining room while he was in the kitchen doing all the cleaning.

Hope this is some help to you, good luck!

Oh, I just thought of another resource I contacted when looking for chef. I e-mailed the food editor of our local paper and asked her for some contacts from local restaurants, etc. She was a great help to me.
