I've been waiting patiently to be able and get tickets to see Kenny in Hartford at the Meadows in July. I just love his music and he's so cute besides. So enjoy a concert with someone with "personality" with he most definately has.
Has anyone here seen him in concert?

A few years ago we saw him and Tim at the Meadows....probably the best show I've ever seen. Even DH= enjoyed it.

I went to his concert last year. I enjoyed much of the show except that he had Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker on tour with him. Not only do I not like those two performers, but the time he spent doing duets with them (their songs) was time taken away from performing his songs. I used to think he was so HOT (until I saw him without his hat), but I still like his songs, TV performerances and videos because as jazzcat posted, he has personality. He is only one week younger than me so I used to think he would be the perfect match for me! I even had this scheme for meeting him: I used to volunteer at a small concert venue here (seats 400) where there are usually smaller folk and country acts. Occasionally, there are big acts such as Pam Tillis, Suzy Bogess and Ricky Scaggs. They often have meet and greets. I thought that if he performed, I could meet him and he would see the light that I am the one! Not only are we a week apart in age, but his name rhymes with the nickname (Jenny) that my parents call me Ha! Ha!

I've heard he's awesome in concert, but he's coming here with Uncle Kracker. I'm thinking I might wait to see him another time, since I reeeeeeaaally dislike UK.
Jenny - I feel the same way about the hat! He really needs to keep the hat on for the cuteness factor. I've seen interviews w/a baseball cap, and that's no good either. Must be official cowboy hat. Don't know why.

Susan, I'm fine with the baseball cap. The problem with no hat is that he's balding very much at an early age. I don't mean to sound superficial, I really think I judge people by their personality IRL. But the point is that this is not real life - I like a star by their looks and personality (if I've been able to see/hear interviews)and talent. He's got 2/3 going for him and all three if he keeps the hat on! BTW, I am not a big fan of the new song with UK.

He is going to be in South FL in May and I still haven't gotten tickets. I di like Kenny, although I agree the Uncle Kracker/Kid Rock connection has GOT TO GO! Are you listening to us, Kenny?
The main reason I would like to go see him is KEITH URBAN is opening up for him! Now, KU is a bit skinny for my tastes...did you know he wears a size 2 jeans? I don't know if that is true but it was in a country music fanzine. I am not sure that is anything to be proud of ! Anyway, I do like his music and my 5 year old DD is in LOOOVE with him. I really want to encourage her, because I am happy that she likes wholesome country music rather than all that pop and hip hop junk.

Kenny made some comment at either the concert I attended or some taped concert that he has met all kinds of people in the business. It felt like it was kind of a disclaimer as to why Kid Rock (who does not have a wholesome image) was on tour with him. Okay, be friends with whoever you want, but the musical combination does NOT work. Keith Urban opened for Kenny last year, as did Dena Carter. I really liked Keith's performance. I think Keith is a great guiter player.

..........no matter who, I'll still be there. My first Kenny concert. How I would LOVE to see him with Keith Urban. Another voice I love and I think he's HOT. I believe Keith is playing with Brad Paisley on July 12th at Mohegan Sun. Maybe I could get tickets to that as well!!!!!! Really want to see Kenny though!!!:D

Ok, Beth, you got your wish! I couldn't believe when they came out and said that Rascal Flats wouldn't be coming on and introduced Keith Urban! It was a great concert. UK wasn't too bad, he only did a few songs.
So, did you go and have a good time??

All you lucky girls who get to see Kenny Chesney (and Keith Urban)! I'm definitely jealous. :)
Although, I am going to see Alan Jackson and Martina McBride in August....I'm so excited! Those two are like my absolute favorites and they're going to be at the same concert.

Ok experts I need your help!
For Cheyenne Frontier Days I have 3 choices:
1. Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker
2. Keith Urban and Brad Paisley
3. Trick Pony and Chris Cagle
Which one? I've not seen any of them, but I like all of them, with the exception of Uncle Kracker. Do any of them really put on a good show or do they just sing good and look cute (which is ok too)?

I would opt for Keith Urban and Brad Paisley.

I almost didn't open this thread because I'm just not wild about country music. The responses so far raise a question.
I listen to a rock/top 40-type station (no Brittny, Christina, any boy bands, etc.)...I'd say the majority of the bands/singers they play actually have talent. :D They've just recently started playing the duet by Uncle Kracker and Kenny Chesney. The first time I heard it, I had to check the station to be sure the radio was programmed to the correct station and that it hadn't accidentally been moved to a country station. What in the world was that sound coming out of my radio?!?!?
The second time I heard it, they actually announced it was Kenny Chesney and UK. First, I'm not wild about UK and think he's one of those over-rated singers primarily because of his connection to Kid Rock. (I will be the first to admit that I loved the duo between Kid Rock and Sheryl Crowe....it came awfully close to a country sound and I thought that song was lots of fun.)
I don't hear fun with the KC and UK song. I hear country. What is that country song doing on my rock station??
Here's my question. From the comments here, it sounds like the KC fans don't like that song either. Who likes it? I don't see it as a cross-over hit. It sounds pure country to me...but if those of you who admittedly like KC don't like it, who does????

I'm casting the same vote Bethany did.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I like that song (I assume you're talking about "When the Sun Goes Down"). I'm surprised it was on your pop station though, because I agree it is definitely country.
Btw, Denise....I would go see Keith Urban and Brad Paisley.

You may want to check out who exactly is playing with KC. All I heard was KC w/ UK until about a week before show time, then I learned that Rascal Flats would be there too. Oh, Blue County and Rachel Proctor were also there.
All I can say is Keith Urban ROCKS!!!!
As far as 'When the Sun Goes Down', it's ok. I don't dislike it.
I'm looking forward to seeing Toby in September.
