I've seen salad dressing recipes that ask for an anchovy filet. I have anchovy paste that I would rather use. How much of it would equal a fish? :)

I can't help, but I sure would like to know the answer.

I had the time so I looked this up on food subs:
anchovy paste Shopping hints: Supermarkets carry tubes of this, usually near the canned tuna. Substitutes: mashed anchovy fillets (1 fillet yields about 1 teaspoon of paste. ) This substitute has a stronger flavor than prepared anchovy paste.) OR shrimp paste (more pungent than anchovy paste).

Thanks a bunch!
I'm not sure about that equivelency. I just went and looked at the anchovy fillets in my freezer and I'd bet that one fillet would equal 1/4 tsp of paste, certainly no more. The fillets I've got are about 1 1/2 inches long and very thin.:)
