I have always wanted to be taller (I'm almost 5'3"). If I could just grow another few inches, I think life would be so much better. Just think, I could easily reach the second cabinet shelf! I wouldn't have to hem everything I buy. So, what would you change?

I voted other. I like my height (5'8" pretty much) but I would like to have smaller breasts. :o I'm a D and would love to be a C or even a B. I know, those who have small ones, want large ones.. You asked. :D

I'd like to be taller (I'm 5' 3 and 3/4 inches). But I'd like to be "stretched" - my same measurements would surely look better on someone who was 5'7"!!! Plus it would make it much easier to dance with my husband... he's 6'4" and when we dance it looks pretty silly!
I am very long-waisted; when I am sitting next to my tall friends, we look like we are the same height (sometimes I look taller if they are all legs). But when we stand up, they gain 3-4 inches on me. Curse that 27" inseam!!! :p

Hmmm, I'd either have no allergies OR have narrower feet. My flippers - I mean feet - are a 6 1/2 EE, and no one really makes shoes in that size. I'd love to be able to find out what it's like to buy cute, trendy shoes!

LOL...I am a big footed and big handed petite person too!
The only thing I might change would be the bump in my nose...would like it gone...but at 36 years of age...it seems kind of pointless....although...what would be the point of having had it done sooner?! oh right...I would have had that modeling career but for the bump! :D

Rebecca- I'm with you on that one. I'd like to be stretched, too. My husband is also 6'4"....and I'm just 5'2"!
Interestingly, 5'3" is around the average height for women....the entertainment industry would make you think it's much taller than that!

I'm pretty content but could do with just a touch larger bust (I'm a small B since I got in marathon shape, doggone it!) Could use another inch or two in height (I'm 5'3") but that never bothers me much since I'm long-legged and have good posture and people never believe me when I tell them how short I really am. :D Wait'll they see me try to reach the top cupboards, though...

I voted "proportions." I am overall pretty happy with my physical appearance, but I have kind of a swimmer's build -- broad shoulders and chest and short, tree-trunk like legs. I also have no hips at all. Forget buying one-piece dresses -- they NEVER fit me right. If they fit through the chest and shoulders, they're swimming everywhere else. Yep, definitely proportions.

Eva,
Since I'd like slightly smaller hips you can have my extra inches. :D :D :D I think I'd be happy if the difference between my waist & hips were less that 10". :D :D :D :D
Linda,
Mom was 5'3" and wore and 8 1/2 or 9 AAAA shoe. For years if she found a pair under $60 she purchased every color available. When she passed away we gave away 47 pairs of shoes. :o :o

I voted proportions. I'm odd shaped. I'm 5'9 and like my legs OK. It's just that I'd like everything from my bust to my belly smaller. My hips are fine. I hate clothes shopping. Ugh.

I voted that "I like me as I am." Of course I would like to lose the baby weight that I am carrying, but I am cool with my proportions.
I would change my hair if I could. I wish it were thicker and either curly or straight. I have fine hair, of medium thickness that is curly underneath and lays stick straight on top. It is driving me nuts right now!

I voted "proportions." I think it's one of the most important things in a general "figure" sense. There are very large women who look fantastic because they're in proportion (like Queen Latifah). You can be skinny, curvy, short, tall, whatever, and look beautiful as long as everything looks right together.
With that said, I think looking "fit" and healthy is way more important to me than leg length, bust size, etc. If I see a woman or man who is really healthy and fit, I can easily overlook most any physical "flaw." Being fit looks really beautiful to me on most anyone. (this isn't coming out right at all, but hopefully you get the gist)

Interesting poll. I read through the options and weighed the pros and cons. Actually, the only thing that I don't like about myself is my current weight- and I CAN change that! I think I'm proportioned rather well. I thought about a smaller chest (thanks to my 2 kids, they're bigger larger than life and lower than ever!) but I can live with that. I'm used to them, actually, and I think I might miss them if they weren't there.
I agree with SusanMac- it's so important to be "fit". I find if I feel healthy, I tend to look healthy.
So, wow, what a great poll- makes me feel better about myself after going through that exercise.

That was why I purposely didn't put weight as a choice. Sure there are genetic factors, but most of us could weigh what we wanted if we worked at it. Same thing with muscle tone. But no matter how much I exercise or work on my weight...my height and my build are going to stay pretty much the same as I started.
I'm really glad that there are some very HEALTHY people that like themselves just as they are :D

I voted taller, even though I'm 5'5" which is a tick above average height. But I come from a tall family and every year when I see my extended family I invariably hear, "I forgot how short Ali[a nickname] is."
I would also love love love to have straight hair.

The grass is always greener on the other side. :p Those of us with stick-straight hair would sometimes love love love to have curly hair! ;)
Also, when I was in college and high school, I dreamed of having baby fine, soft hair. I hated having thick coarse hair -- it took gobs of products, took forever to dry, could never fit it all in a ponytail holder, etc. I'm finally getting over that.

I'm with you Tyra!! I wish I was about 5'6". I'm only 5'3" and petite pants do NOT fit, too short in the length and the crotch.
Oh, and I have short arms! Go figure.... :(

I voted "less curvy". I think in hindesight, maybe I should have voted "other". I do like being "curvy" but I really wouldn't mind having less bust! They've always gotten me into trouble! :D
I would like to be taller. I am 5'8", but wouldn't mind being 5'10" or 5'11".

I voted for "proportions." I am like Eva, except I don't have broad shoulders. I have regular shoulders and a normal waist and hips--I wear or 6 or 8 in most pants and I am fine with that. But I have big breasts (36D) and clothes never look right on me. Tops are either tentlike or too tight and so I either look as if I weigh 20 lbs more than I do, or I look like a hooker. One-piece dresses usually look terrible! I really just wish designers would think about larger-breasted women.
I actually lost 12 lbs last year, which is a fair amount for my frame, and my bra size stayed the same and the band size increased! What is up with that??
I wouldn't mind losing the allergies, the terrible eyesight and the gray-hair-at-16 either :) But everything works and I am grateful for that. I agree with the other posters that fitness makes a difference; I weighed less in college but did not look as good because I never exercised or ate well. I definitely am healthier now.
FTR--I am 5'3" and while I wouldn't mind a few extra inches, I no longer think of myself as short. Besides, DH is 5'10" and he loves that I think he is tall. Compared to anyone in my family, he is a giant :)

1 item is tough. I have a laundry list.
Taller: I am 5'4
Less curvy: I'm a D and would rather be a C or B (I hear you Erika) and would love to have a long waist and legs. I have one of those 1950's sweater girl bods
Hair that wasn't fine, it gets limp easy (color is fine)
Feet: I wear a 7 wide and the shoe manufacturers hate people with wide feet. It is hard finding shoes that don't look orthopedic. Why can't we have sexy shoes too??

I'm definetly on the height bandwagon! I'm 5 foot, but DH is only 5'6" so I would take just a measly four inches! I hate being this short, I look funny in photos when people are really tall, I look extremly tiny! Other than that I can deal with the rest of the body even the stomach that has been handed down through generations of my mom's family where it's impossible to have a perfectly flat stomach. Even at 100 pounds I still have a bit of a buddha sticking out!

Hey, I'm 5'4"!! DH is over a foot taller than me, too! :D He always says I'm short.
As for curves- well I still have you beat there. I used to be a D- before kids. Yikes! :D

Interesting poll! I am of course the first (and probably only) one to mention calves. Boy do I wish mine were smaller. Bodybuilder dudes love them (aah the appeal of a musclehead - those days are long gone!) but regular folk just have a tendency to make blockhead comments that make me even more sensitive about them. They're not quite at Popeye stature, but they are most definitely not tiny. Oh, I wish I could wear those cute boots that go up to your knees - very sexy, but can't fit the big calves into them. Knee-high capris? Nope. Cute skirts that are cut to the knees? Nope. They're not quite the bane of my existence but definitely something to make me self-conscious.
On the bright side, one (idiot) ex-boyfriend once made the comment that if we were stranded on a desert island I've got enough meat on them to last us until we were rescued. (Geez, I am so glad I'm through that phase of dating guys I met at the gym...)
Oh, and Fairy Godmother? I'd love perfect skin too! ;)

How about ankles? Close enough? ;)
I'm very happy with my height (5'8) and proportions, along with the changeable attributes like weight and hair, but I would be even happier if I had thin ankles. Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking cankles or anything, but I inherited my dad's family's wider ankle bone. It looks thin from the front, but not as much so from the side. Oddly enough, I have a pretty small bone structure everywhere else.
Ah, well. There are worse things. :)

For a long time I wished I had just a few more inches (I'm 4'11"): all the short jokes, a little sexier legs, sometimes not taken seriously, can't reach things, hard to find clothes that fit, some styles look awful on me, hard to find shoes to fit my tiny feet. However, I have come to accept my height as one of my distinguishing features. I also have a hard time maintaining my preferred weight and am usually 5-10 pounds over, but I'd rather be a little over than under as I think a few more curves look better. However, the one thing I really wish I could change is my dark hair on my eyebrows and thighs. I have both Greek and Danish heritage (along with a few other things.) My hair on my head is a light shade (especially in the summer - I was very blond as a child) as is my arm hair and everyone thought I looked like my Danish father growing up. But my stereotypical Greek features show up other places. In the summer, my hair will lighten up and have a lot of blond streaks, but the eyebrows stay dark. I just think it looks a little weird.

Well, I want to know this: reading thru this list almost everyone is too short for clothes, too short for shelf height etc. Just who are they making all the stuff for??? I'm too short too, just under 5'3". Life would be much easier if I had the 2-3 inches I was supposed to have but didn't get. And muscular. Petite stuff does not fit. I'd love to be a tiny, bird like petite, but I'm just short and not small otherwise. So rather than change a dozen things, I'd settle for 3 more inches in height.

I'd like to be a little taller. Include me in that group that's right at 5'3". I can't wear petite clothing though. My body from my shoulders to my hips are just like a regular cut. Petite cuts put the waist about 3 inches higher than my waist. I'm normal...my legs are just too short. I'm still waiting on the mechanism that stretches legs by a few inches. :D :D :D I'm "height challenged" only in the legs.
One of my really good friends is somewhere around 5'8"..tall and slender. She towers over me. When we sit at a restaurant face to face, we're eyelevel. Of course, under the table, her legs might be stretched out to be comfortable...and my feet may barely reach the floor. :D
By the way...I'd mostly like to be taller not for vanity's sake but because of the finances involved. I'd LOVE the option of buying pants without knowing I have to add in another $6-12 just to have them hemmed. EVERY pair of pants I buy HAS to be hemmed before I can wear them.

The thigh and butt fairy was a little too generous which makes it he!! to find pants. They'll fit fine in the hips/legs and be too big in the waist. DH has the cutest, most perfect little butt you ever did see and he loves to gloat about it. :D *Harumph* - Mine would look that good too if I had all that testosterone coursing through my veins. What I'd really like to change is my hearing - I'm almost deaf as a door knob and I often wonder how my life might have been different had I not had this issue. Not feeling sorry for myself, there are worse things to have, but you can't help but wonder. I like to think God gave it to me for a reason. So Debie, if I could come to the klatch this weekend you would be see no evil, I would be hear no evil...who could we get to be speak no evil? Sandy???? :D

They told me that they'd get smaller when I lost weight. Nope. They said after I breastfed my kids, the tissue would break down and they'd be smaller. Nope again. I went to buy some bras and the woman insisted I was trying on the wrong size. I said "but I'm a D!" She said "try the DD". I think a C would be nice, but I'm also pretty used to these things now. I really wish I could hack some off and share with my sister, who was not quite so blessed and feels a bit self conscious about it.
