Leanne replied to a diff. post of mine and reminded me that I have been curious about this for a while...Have any of you been published in CL with a reader recipe or a lighten it up recipe?

Sherry--
Lynn B submitted the Chicken Francias recipe that was lightened up in the Jan/Feb 2001 issue. You can read more about it at the following thread. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/Forum1/HTML/003749.html

Yeah, I have submitted 2 and didn't hear anything, and thinking about a third. We'll see.

They haven't published any, but I've submitted two reader recipes. I was told that they keep the recipes for quite a while, so you never know!!!

Hi! We are the "Chicken Francais Family" in the Jan/Feb 01 issue!!!
It was such fun to be chosen and featured in my absolute FAVORITE magazine!
Everyone we worked w/ at CL was WONDERFUL! So sweet and friendly! It was a great experience.
I sent my letter w/ recipe to CL in February last year, heard from them in August. They flew a photographer up in September to take the pictures. He was a doll! That day was a blast! By the time he left, we felt like old friends!
I, too, would LOVE to hear from anyone else who has been featured in the magazine. I especially wonder how they "come up with" the families that they do the complete stories on, etc.?! Anyone know?
Oh - guess what else?! I have also had a short submission published in Reader's Digest ("Life in these United States") once! That was pretty fun! (And I got $400 for that, over 10 years ago!!!)
So I guess my advice to anyone would be... KEEP TRYING! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

There is help... there is hope http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif
http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I did manage to get one of my recipes selected for publication (not to be lightened, but as a reader recipe) -- it's a pesto salmon recipe that should be featured in the April(?) issue of CL. The publication has been put off twice now, so I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping it gets in!
