side dish suggestions

Hi everybody. Tonight I am making the herb-crumb coated chicken and I am debating side dishes. I was thinking about either the smashed potato and broccoli casserole or the squash and rice casserole. Does anyone have a preference or another suggestion?
I am stopping at the grocery store on my way home from work so I would love to hear any suggestions out there.

I loved this chicken, but I think it needed some kind of sauce to go with it. In my notes I wrote that it could be served w/mashed potatoes and a chicken gravy, or serve w/spaghetti and a marinara sauce. This chicken is really very very good.

For what it's worth, I have made the squash and rice casserole and it was very good. Haven't tried the smashed potato one so can't comment on that one.

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually went with the squash ans rice casserole and I loved it. I highly recommend it.

Just a note about the herb-crumb chicken. I did not make it but my mom did, and she said that while it is tasty and moist, it could use some spice. She thought it was pretty bland.
