Hello -
I thought it would be fun to organize a supper club of married women who live in San Francisco, and who are all between the ages of 25-35. Of course, we could ocassionally invite the men to join in, but let's face it - we all need a night away! We could plan to meet once a month on weekends or weeknights if it works for everyone.
The goal of the group would be to enjoy cooking together, try new things, and hopefully, get to be close friends over time. Also, I think the theme would be to keep this as stress free as possible. I was reading another CL person's ideas for what makes a supper club work well and I agree:
1. All live close to each other (in our case, everyone should live in SF), so that there is limited travel time.
2. Keep the recipes simple and easy, so that you are not running yourself ragged trying to find odd ingredients - just make things out of the latest issue of the magazine. Everyone picks what they want to make/try, and emails the hostess of the month with their choice to prevent overlap. Foods don't necessarily need to go together - we are trying things! She suggested staying away from themes.
3. She suggested meeting on a weeknight because people already have too many family obligations on the weekend.
We can all talk about this and see what works for us!
