I have been looking at a bread riser in the King Arthur catalog. It preheats in the microwave and maintains 85 degrees for good bread rising. I thought maybe I would order. Has anyone seen or used this?

no, but I'll go look - usually what I do is turn the oven on while I'm arranging the bread and putting in the pan. I let it get to 100, 110 and turn it off and throw bread in there. I've had great results...

Yes, I do a lot of yeast baking and I always preheat my oven for a few minutes, then place my dough in the bowl or the dough which has been shaped, in the preheated oven. Works like a charm. I personally would not waste my money or a special gimick.

I also heat my oven to about 100, then put the bread dough in to rise and have not had any trouble. I agree with Curleytop and would not waste my money on the bread riser.

I also heat my oven to 100 and put the dough in there to rise. I thought of getting the King Arthur bread riser but I think I'll save the money for some other gadget and use the oven.
