I would love to purchase a Barefoot Contessa cookbook but am having a difficult time deciding which one!!! Would love to hear some feedback from those who have her cookbook(s) to help me decide. This will be the first of "hers" for me. Thanks everyone.

I've got all 3 of her books. They're all wonderful, loaded with gorgeous pictures of each recipe, beautiful text and in the back of each book is a resource guide for cookware, tableware, spices, specialty foods. I purchased all 3 at the same time from The Good Cook because I couldn't decided which one to get first. If you can, go to Borders or Williams-Sonoma and browse each book - see which recipes appeal to you the most. Or you can go to foodtv.com and look at all of the Barefoot Contessa recipes - it will indicate from which book each recipe is found.
I'm sure you'll be happy no matter which book you buy first.

I have all three as well and love them all. I would purchase them in the order they came out. I think the first one is just called the Barefoot Contessa Cookbook. After that, I would get the Family Style one next and the Parties one third. But, as the previous poster mentioned, you will not be disappointed with any of them.

I just might have to look into getting her books, that reference section is a good idea considering when you watch a show on tv whether it is Foodtv or HGTV and they don't mention where anything comes from and you go to the homepage and you can't find any information there either it is really frustrating.

I would definitely recommend the Parties book!!! It is awesome. I have several favorite recipes out of there. I have the first book, which I think is just Barefoot Contessa. I like it, but not nearly as much as Parties. I have seen the Family one and it looks like a lot heavier food to me. Someone served a pasta recipe out of there that was QUITE rich and I didn't love.
The Parties book has lots of quick recipes that make the most out of a few ingredients. This is the first cookbook I have cooked out of in years. Normally, I exclusively cook out of CL.
Just my thoughts! Kelly
