I'm dying to try these margaritas, but with just me doing the drinking, think I will have to pass until it's my turn hosting the supper club!
Who will make them and review for me???

From the Sweet Potato Queens'Big-*** Cookbook (and Financial Planner)
New Allison's Mambo Margaritas

1 big can limeade (12 oz or so)
1 bottle of Corona beer
12 oz Seven-Up (never Sprite!)
12 oz really good Tequila

Mix all really well. Don't put in the blender - ha!

Doesn't it sound yummy???
:D

I think these have been discussed here -- either with margaritas or when LauraB originally posted about the YaYa's (forgive me if I've got the wrong person). I think someone had tried them and liked them. FWIW

Here it is -- Traci declared it The Best Margarita I've Ever Had! (http://community.cookinglight.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7685&highlight=mambo+and+margaritas)

That recipe looks great to me! Will have to wait until we have LOTS of people over, though!:o

That's funny, because just last night I was thinking about an old "punch" type drink I've made for something like forty years, and it's a close cousin to that one

Take 1 can frozen lemonade. Instead of three cans water, use one full can of beer (12 oz.) and one can of rye for a six ounce can; double all that for a 12 oz can of lemonade. It tastes exactly like a whiskey sour, but, really, it's a boilermaker in disguise, and flattens folk fairly quickly because they never realize what they're drinking. :D

It's been a while. I wouldn't have remembered it if it hadn't been for the Sweet Potato Queens and the beer in the margaritas. It was after that discussion of the best margarita that we tried the CL watermelon margarita, then I made raspberry ones cuz we had them in the freezer -- now mango and pineapple. I don't have recipes for any of those other than the watermelon becauze we've just thrown stuff in the blender. SIA (Sorry in advance) ;)
