View Full Version : Sriracha Sub - Chili Paste? Tabasco?

I'm making the Seared Chicken with Sriacha Barbecue Dipping Sauce from the current C/L and have no Sriracha Sauce.

I have two kinds of chili paste, Tabasco sauce, hot sesame oil.

Should I use Tabasco or chili paste or does it make any difference. When I've had Sriracha Sauce, I haven't discerned any particular taste except heat:D but perhaps I don't have the most discriminating chili palate.

Foodsubs likes tabasco.

Sriracha Notes: This is a hot sauce used as a condiment by Thais and Vietnamese. Substitutes: Tabasco sauce or other hot sauce (not as sweet)

Thanks tbb - I've bookmarked the site.

Their note is a little ambiguous though -- not as sweet? I never discerned sweetness in sriracha but I am going to have to give it a thorough taste test the next time I encounter it :)
