Made a lime daiquiri tonite. It was lousy!! 1/2 lime, equal amount of rum, 1 teaspoon sugar. Someone out there must have a great recipe. I have a bag of limes, it's hot here, and a nice cool, delicious, refreshing daiquiri would hit the spot.

I found these on allrecipes.com (both serve 4). I think you probably needed more sugar??

1 cup ice
1 cup light rum
1/2 (6 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate
1 cup carbonated water

1 In a blender, combine ice, rum, limeade concentrate and carbonated water. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

3 limes, juiced
1/2 cup white sugar
10 fluid ounces white rum
4 maraschino cherries
6 cups ice cubes

1 In a blender combine lime juice, sugar and rum. Blend and add ice one cube at a time until mixture is thick and smooth. Pour into 4 glasses and garnish with maraschino cherries.

Something I used as a bartender was simple syrup to sweeten my lime daqs.

2 cups sugar
1 cup water

Bring to low boil and cook untill the thickness of honey.

This dissolves better than granulated sugar.

Lime Daqs.

1 jigger of rum
juice of 1 lime
1/2 jigger of simple syrup

Shake well with ice and strain
OR put in blender with ice and crush.

Added touch - run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and then dip the rim in superfine (Bakers) sugar.

Think it is time for a cocktail!!!

jigger = 1.5 oz :cool:

I'm SO glad you asked! One of our all-time favorite drinks around here is one I clipped out of BA years ago:

Vermont Daquiri

2 parts rum
1 part fresh lime juice
1 part pure maple syrup

Option one: Serve shaken with ice, over ice, or chilled.

Option two: Serve warmed (wonderful in winter) in Irish Coffee Glasses

Option three: (In the original recipe) Walk out on the porch, snap off an icicle, and use it to stir.

This is REALLY good!
