Thanks to anyone who can help with either or both of these questions.

1. I am going to make the steak from Jan-Feb 1998. It calls for steak sauce, such as Heinz 57. Can I substitute worcestershire sauce or something else? I hate to buy another sauce that I will use for just two T in one recipe.

2. Has anyone ever made the Chocolate Macaroon Tunnel Cake from October 1996 or the German Chocolate Coconut Cake from last year? How do they compare? My DH loooooves coconut and I love chocolate so these seem like good choices for our belated V-Day.

Is that the steak w/ the red wine and Heinz 57 sauce? If it was it was very good as I recall. I love steak sauce so mine never goes to waste. What about adding ketchup to the worcestershire sauce. That might give you the flavor of steak sauce.

Jessica,
My husband and I both gave this dish a 10! I used A-1 steak sauce instead of Heinz 57 because that's what I had on hand. I think it might be worth your while to get one of the steak sauces, and if you love it as much as we did then you'll use up the sauce making it again!

I LOVE steak sauce...I couldn't ever eat steak without it! In fact I think I like the sauce more than the steak. I'm sure once you've bought it you'll use it more often than you expected!

I don't eat steak but steak sauce is great on a baked potato!
