I want to start a Chicago supperclub. I just moved here from NY where I was part of a wonderful Cooking Light supperclub. It's well worth the effort and is a lot of fun! My specialties are baked goods, but I cook all types of food. I live in the West Loop, but encourage interested others from all over Chicago to contact me. Members could take turns hosting dinners and carpool if necessary. I really want to get this going and am willing to host the initial meeting. Those interested in food and cooking please respond. I'm a 37 y.o. female and am open to all ages and both genders. Let's eat!

Cynthia, if you're interested, you're welcome to join the club that was just started by a group of us and has 5 members. We've only met twice.

Hi. I'd be interested in joining your new supperclub. When and where do you meet? Can you accommodate a non meat/poultry eater?

I'm so sorry I didn't respond to this sooner, Cynthia. Our next meeting is either Sunday August 29 or Monday August 30; I believe Vietnamese is the theme for this month.

No problem. I received a reply from another interested party and we are forming a new supperclub as well. I will post a thread if it doesn't work out or to maybe have a combo event at some point.

Hello All,

I just discovered the cooking light forum today and am going a little crazy with my posts! However, I am interested in joing an existing group or starting one my own. Sounds like fun! Can someone give me details about this one?

Hi.

We're a new club with 3 members who had our first meeting on 8/14. Next supperclub scheduled for 9/18. We're single gals, 30s, and looking for new members. We plan to rotate hosting and live in W. Loop, Hyde Park, and Arlington Hts.

Sounds fun. What's the protocal for the 18th? Hostess makes main course and everyone else brings other dishes? Do you have a theme?

Is it Amber? Sounds like you're interested in our club? I'm trying to recall who will bring what course, but we decided to have each person bring either an entree, side, or dessert. We could probably use an entree. I'm the only one with food restrictions (ovo-lacto vegetarian, eat seafood), but can usually find something to eat if there are 2 entrees. I'll make a veggie entree or hearty side so people can feel free to bring meat dishes.

I will email the other members to specify who brings what and have Michelle email you with directions to her home if you feel comfortable giving email out. Feel free to email me.

Cynthia
