Hi,
my wonderful husband just gave me the Cooking Light annual recipies cookbook for Valentines day! But he informed me there were two types- the one I recieved which is categorized just as the magazines are issued, and the other book is set up in the more traditional cookbook style with apps, main dishes ,etc.
Since I haven't seen the other book I was wondering if any of you have a preference for one over the other and why. I thought the latter might be easier to plan meals from but I am not sure!!

stacie99--I love the annual cookbooks because then I can toss my raggedy magazines. But the other cookbooks have recipes from earlier magazines, and if you are a newish subscriber they may not overlap much.
For example, I have the Five-Star, which has recipes from (I think) about 1986-96. I did not start buying CL till 1998. That one does have categories like appetizers, vegis, main dishes and desserts, so it is a little easier to use, but the regular cookbooks are organized by month, so it is easier to find seasonal recipes.
I guess I will just have to own them all... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I thought all the annuals were done month by month but with 3 different indexes to look recipes up-Alphabetical, Month by Month and General (which lists it by category-appetizers, chicken, salads, etc.). While I don't have the 5-Star, I do have The Complete Cooking Light Cookbook which has the top 10% the past years.
