Yikes! - Mexican Chocolate Cake in August issue

Has anyone made this yet? I followed recipe ingredients/directions exactly, including putting it in an 8-inch pan. I now have Mexican Chocolate Cake all over my oven. Way too much for an 8-inch pan. Just wanted to put a warning out there for anyone anticipating making this. Use a 9-inch at least.

Oops, sorry, I should mention that what I've peeled off the side of the pan tastes terrific!

I have an email into CL to ask. I'm wondering if it was maybe just a typo and should have been a 9-inch rather than 8-inch. I had to bake the overfull 8-inch for 15-20 minutes longer than the 30 minutes called for in the recipe, which is another reason to think that it's just a pan size issue. Other than the mess I had, it's really very good. We just had some for our evening dessert.

BTW, Ellen, thanks for the note. If I have an opportunity in the morning, I'll post a quick repeat of the discrepancy.

Deb, I lived in Bethlehem also, but missed meeting Gail when we lived there. You have 3 Wegman's in the Lehigh Valley Area, I am jealous!!

Susan, thanks for the bump. Where do you live in PA now?

I just noticed that the CL On the Move truck will be in the Beth & Easton Wegman's at the end of August. They were here last year about this time as well. Not sure why they're not going to the Allentown store this year.
