I'm placing a spice order and I'm tempted to get one but would love some confirmation before I drop the $30. TIA!

Lisa:
Here are some old threads (http://community.cookinglight.com/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=533476&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) on this pepper mill. Looks like most people like it ;)

I have the smaller one. It was a gift, and it grinds quite nicely. I do find it a bit of a pain to refill though. The opening is at the top and it's very small, making it difficult to get the peppercorns in there quickly. I buy Penzey's bags of peppercorns and find the easist way to refill it is just to dunk the whole mill into the bag and scoop them up. But overall I like it.

I have the small one. It's better than others I've had. It doesn't do a great job of a find grind, and it doesn't hold much. I'd definitely get the larger one. There is another brand of pepper mill that Cooks Illustrated recommended--maybe someone can remember what it was, or perhaps it's on one of the old threads. I think I'd get that one before I'd get the one from Penzey's again. Not that it's bad, it just isn't what I hoped for. I agree that it's hard to fill, too.

I've got both sizes and I really like them. The little one does tend to go through the peppercorns kinda quick, but I reason they aren't getting stale by just sitting around then.

I like the larger one a bit more because I have longer fingers and it's easier for me to grab.

I haven't had any trouble refilling either one...I just cup one hand around the top like a funnel and dump away! :D

I have the smaller one and I find that it won't grind large peppercorns. I can't figure out why, so I buy the Penzey peppercorns that came with the grinder.
