Robyn1007 brought this company (http://www.upack.com/default.asp?refnum=goto) to my attention last week, so I looked in to it. I also saw SusieO asking the same question about this company when she moved to Houston a couple of years ago (strange, b/c we are moving to houston!). Anyways, it would cost us the same to use this company as it would for us to rent a huge Budget van, but we don't have to drive the huge truck w/ our car attached. Hate doing this!!!!!!! I checked the BBB and they are associated w/ them and there are a bunch of them all over the US. On u-pack's website, they have the BBB Reliability Program logo. I clicked on the one located in Houston and it said there was one compliant in the past 36 mths, but it appears it might be a small company. Anyways, it seems like a good idea and I have read about all the scary things that can happen w/ people moving your stuff, but DH and I are dreading being truck drivers!!!

Anyways, if anyone has any experience w/ them I would love to hear about it good or bad.

Michelle, I can't speak for this company, but I will tell you that it is SO much better to have someone move for you! Professionals know how to pack a van so that things don't slide around and get damaged, they can get things loaded/unloaded faster, and if anything does happen to your things then they are insured. If you are driving a Budget van, and anything happens to your stuff or your car, then you are stuck with the cost of repair/replacing it. Yikes!

Seems like if this company is registered with the BBB, then it could be a good deal.

Ok, I just saw the site, and realized that you will still load/unload your own trailer, and they just drive it. If it's the same cost, then it would certainly make sense to do it! I would still recommend looking into a full-service moving company, because it might not cost as much as you think. When DH and I moved to Austin from Atlanta, we drove ourselves in a Ryder truck, but had movers on either end to help us load/unload. It saved us so much time, and itsaved our furniture. Just another thought. :)

Hey Rebecca. (loved the pictures of your cats ;) )

I got a rough estimate for movers and it is at least $1000 more . Just a bit too steep for us.......but I know what you mean about how wonderful it is to have someone do that for you. What is really annoying is that Carl's grandfather started Suddath van lines and we don't get any type of discount .

We are leaning towards this company, but just not sure what to do. We've been pretty indecisive throughout this entire process and it doesn't help that DH is hanging out with Mickey Mouse this week, ha!!:D

So any input is really helpful!
