it's a long weekend here and I think across the country!

Have a fun one guys and if you are travelling stay safe.

It's crazy here- long ferry lineups etc. I'll just home and bake!:)

Thanks, Maureen - you too!

Not sure what we'll do this weekend but no border crossing for us either ;) Or ferry crossing, not that that is an option for us!!

Here's some info about the holiday for anyone wondering :)

Yes the border crosssings will be a nightmare Nat!

Ron's back your way- in Sherbrooke Quebec for an international trackmeet (his first time as a national coach-whooo!!!)
It is picture perfect weather here- wish you were here!:D

Hey, congrats to Ron!! Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships area are lovely; I have many fond memories of that area. Too bad you couldn't have gone out there with him (and stopped by here on your way out). Someday! :D

Happy Long Weekend!
Watching the news: 3 sailing waits for the ferries!!

I made a solemn vow to never travel by ferry on the long weekends and a three ferry wait is why!

Thanks Linda- don't you feel glad you are at home?

Oh yeah!
Although I wish I had a long weekend... I'll be working straight through till wednesday. Then I get a little mini holiday....

I agree with Maureen and Linda....a three sailing wait (3 hour wait) and long, long lineups at the border are not pleasant. I remember when the DD's were little and we decided to go away for the long weekend.....never again....we turned around and spent the three days playing tourist in our own town. We had a great time.

Happy holiday fellow Canadians.

Long weekends are great, but they'd be better if I were out in B.C. I envy all you who live on Vancouver Island. It is absolutely beautiful out there. Perfect to enjoy a relaxing long weekend.

I can't disagree about VI but I bet Toronto is fun on a holiday weekend too- so many great restaurants and activities I imagine!

And the Maritimes....it looks so beautiful out there!! I want to travel across this great land!!!!

Me too, Maureen. I used to live in Nova Scotia and loved it out there in the summer. (Didn't particularly like all the snow though ;) )It would be fun to have a motorhome or whatever that we could start on this coast, some summer ( I do have two months off each year) and go from coast to coast visiting the BB'er (or picking them up) along the way. What a fun trip that would be.

True, one thing Toronto has in its favour is a fabulous selection of restaurants. There's always a new restaurant I'd like to try (though I can't always afford it). When I travelled out West, I missed the variety of foods that I get here. I think it's because of the incredible ethnic mix.

Hi all! Sarah just left my house. She arrived on Friday, and said the border crossing at Sarnia/Port Huron took her about an hour. I'm hoping it's not as bad today, as it's a Sunday and not the end of the holiday weekend! :D

I don't think Vancouver matches Toronto but it has great diversity of both food and culture.
Victoria- not so much!:( :o
