Help! I discovered four little "muffins" of meatloaf (the yummy Italian Meatloaf with Basil and Provolone) in my freezer. They are individually wrapped in saran wrap and then they are all in a GladWare container. But they are dated OCTOBER! Would y'all eat these or throw them out? I have not done much freezing, especially not of home cooked foods, so I am not sure of the life span of these things!

I would eat them - I often freeze meatloaf and haven't ever had a problem. sal

I'm not a "freezer" expert, but if they are wrapped as well as you explain, then they should be fine. If it's October 2000, then that is still less than 6 months ago.

Now, if it has turned grey, or has freezer burn, then best to toss it out.

Gosh, I think most frozen food is good (as far as still being edible without getting sick) for at least a year. It just might suffer a little in quality (texture, taste, etc.), but I'm quite sure you could eat it without getting sick.

I would definitely eat them! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Thanks! I will try them out this weekend. It would have been a shame to throw them away. I LOVE this meatloaf!

I would like to freeze a meatloaf. You know the make 2 and freeze one thing.
I was thinking plastic wrap than foil. What do you think? Any better suggestions?
