I've never really recovered from the Olympic Committee's decision to hold the Olympics every two years and alternate from winter to summer. I liked the four-year anticipation and then the glut of Olympic fervor. Plus, the whole commercialism aspect of the decision annoys me.

Thoughts?

After I finally got used to the idea of having the winter and summer events in alternating 2-year plans, I've gotten used to the idea and like it.

Yeah, what you said. I liked all of the hype and anticipation of the every-four-years model. Every other year is a bit too much for me.

I like the symmetry of every two years.

I like the two year format very much (although I didn't in the beginning, I admit) - the winter and summer olympics were never held at the same time or in the same place anyway, so I thought it was too much for any one year. Two years still seems like a long time - the last Olympics were the ones in Utah - that whole thing seems like a long time ago already. I'm ready for MORE! :D

I loved the Olympics, until they were held here in Atlanta. I haven't enjoyed them since.

I like the two year format as well. I love to watch sports, and enjoy seeing the opening ceremonies, etc., so I like that they're every 2 years now.

They seemed more significant when they only happened every 4 years. I'd go back to that in a heartbeat.

I like it every two years - less time to wait for the fun!

Having both Summer & Winter in one year was too overwhelming for me. Mainly because the majority of coverage is the personal story stuff and NOT the actual competitions. So, after watching the first one, it would get old. We don't get burned out so much when they're every 2 years. I'm really hoping that with more TV stations broadcasting, that we'll actually get to see some of the more unusual sports. We'll see.

Stefania - totally interesting about disliking the Olympics after living with it all around you in your home town!
