Y'know, with all those wonderful and diverse places to eat in Singapore, somehow I managed to do very little sampling when I was there years ago. So, tell me... did you pick up any really good recipes while living there? Anything you'd like to pass along?

I did buy a local cookbook while I lived there but it's in storage like all the rest of my books. What I loved most was the guy who would come by with the little grill on the back of his motorbike and sell satay. He would drive up and yell "Satay, satay!" By the end of May I hope to be in the new house and the first room to do will be the kitchen so if you can wait until then...

Actually we did and it was delicious. The Health Dept in Singapore even regulates the little guys to it was safe to eat his satay.
