I am interested in buying the Pie and Pastry bible but it is so expense($40)! For a college student that is a bit much. However I was interested in some feedback about whether anyone had it and whether you liked it or not. T.I.A

I have it and I love it, but might I suggest checking out www.half.com (http://www.half.com) They have books and CD's for half price or less. Such great deals. My husband just got a brand new CD (still wrapped in the plastic) that he's been wanting for a long time - $4!! Yep, four bucks. I got the 5 Ingredient 15 Minute cookbook there for like $10 each. You can also put yourself on a "waitlist" if they don't have it right now - they'll e-mail you as soon as a copy comes in.
I just went and checked the site - they do have copies of it from Jessica's Biscuit for $24.50 each. Here's the link:

You can wait though and see if an individual has a used copy they are trying to sell. The one's from Jessica's Buscuit would be brand new.
And of course, you could always put it on your birthday and/or Christmas list too. Those are wonderful and easy gifts for people to go get and give.

The Pie & Pastry Bible is one of mt favorite books. I also love The Cake Bible. I think both books are well worth having on your bookshelf. Thanks to The Pastry Bible, I am finally able to make pie crusts. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
I have this book and I love this book. I really should use it more though. Can you believe I picked mine up at Border's for $7.00!! There was a noticable tear in the paper cover of the book so the price was reduced. A little piece of tape and it suits me just fine! I'm only sorry I didn't get the other two...they would've made great gifts!
