Hi everyone
There are a lot of alternatives for meat and I have tried a few, but I was wondering if anyone has had success with ground meat replacements? I have to say that the one we tried wasn't the best, I forget the name.
Any suggestions?

We really like Yves Ground Round. I use it very successfully in lasagna and chilli. There are two different kinds- regular and Italian. Yves also recently put out a cookbook with great recipes using its products. I found the cookbook next to the products. Yves is made here in Canada but on a previous thread people in the U.S. had no problem finding them. Hope you give them a try!

We use the Morningstar Farms Burger Crumbles and really like them. Just remember they're already fully cooked so add them towards the end of your cooking time if you can...for example, if making chili, don't add them and then simmer for an hour, add during the last 10 minutes. If your recipe is going to bake all together they do work fine being added just like regular ground beef. We also like the MSF Buffalo Wings (Vegetarian too) for things like BBQ Chicken Pizza, Wraps, etc. They're a bit spicy, so adding some BBQ sauce, ranch dressing, etc goes really well.

We like TVP. Be careful, it soaks up a lot of moisture and flavor......use extra of both!

Morningstar sausage crumbles are a wonderful topping for homemade pizza.

I use crumble and browned Boca Burgers in spaghetti sauce and Gimme Lean! vegetarian sausage on pizza. I've also seen recipes for roasts with rubs or crusts made with portobello mushrooms instead (obviously the cooking time is much shorter and the protein content is much lower).
