º,è,©,¼ It works, Lol! I tried this out & am embarassed to say, I have been writing in 'degrees' for º ever since I have been on this board! TY Gail, everyone http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif
Is there any info on the 1/3 or 2/3 codes or, additional lists or codes for other stuff that we (I) can go by? I am still doing stuff the old fashioned way; I still hand-type in recipes because I have the magazine-NOT Mastercook, etc. TIA http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Zinnia

Susan L -
These codes should work just about anywhere. However, you must use the number pad to the right of your keyboard, not the numbers on top of your letter keys (at least this is the only way it works for me). Maybe that's the problem??
I don't think they have any codes for 1/3, 2/3 etc. I don't tend to use the 1/4 cup codes either as they usually come out soooo small and can be quite hard to see.
She may need to toggle her Num Lock.
Dunno if this is true on all computer software, but on Windows 95, there is something called a Character Map which is a chart of all available codes. I use it a lot since I'm frequently using foreign words.

Gail, how do I do that, I have Windows 98? I was so excited and then it didn't work, I thought I didn't read the thread correctly. I'd appreciate a little "computer help". I did use the keypad to the right! TIA

Susan,
I was just wondering if you had typed in the "+" sign before entering the #, and if that could be the problem? You don't have to use it & I hope thats it.
I can sure see what lindrusso said about the 1/4 c. one being hard to read-it is sooo small! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Zinnia

To go to the Character Map.......
Start/Programs/Accessories/Systems Tools. Highlight the symbol and down at the bottom right corner will be the code to type for it. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
