Hey everyone- need everyone's expertise here. We are builing our first new house and am looking around at kitchen appliances. I was really interested in Dacor and Wolf but found that Dacor has higher BTU (we are using LP) and better prices for what you get. I found some earlier threads on this topic and people had suggested DCS and Bluestar. I don't have time (am at work) to do a complete thorough search on this topic so was wondering if anyone could throw in their two cents on which brand is better: Dacor or DCS or another loved brand. For an idea of our kitchen I am interested in getting a double wall oven (at least top convection), a rangetop 36-48" with vented hood, a dishwasher, and a fridge- all in stainless steel. I cook a lot so am interested in quality appliances even if I have to spend a little bit more for them. I don't want to spend extra money for the name. thanks ahead of time for all your advise!

It's been a few years since I was in the market for a range, but at that time, only Dacor was making a range that was MADE for LP. The others, and there were several were doing retrofits so that the range could handle lp. I'm not sure what all the ramifications of that would be, but I do know that LP burns at a different temperature.
You should go to www.thathomesite.com and post this question in the appliance forum. There are several appliance specialists that will be able to give you a good answer about that.
