View Full Version : would you eat it?
I made a huge, beautiful orzo salad last night with feta, marinated artichoke hearts, olives, grilled chicken, cucumbers, and roasted red peppers. Imagine my dismay to find it sitting on my counter this morning when I stumbled downstairs for coffee. :( It's in a vinaigrette, not a mayo based dressing, and it smells okay. Would you eat it???

I would if only it didn't have the grilled chicken in it. However, given the meat factor, I'd say it's a little risky.
Sorry :(

I might eat it for lunch today, but I probably wouldn't keep it very long.
You have to hate it when that happens!!

With chicken, I wouldn't it. Actually, I probably wouldn't even if it didn't have chicken, but I'm squeamish that way.

Unfortunately I would also toss it. I got food poisening once before and I still attribute it to bad pasta salad that sat out too long and it had chicken in it.
Rats! Better safe than sorry I guess, especially on a Monday when I can't afford food poisoning and missing work! I hate it when I plan ahead and then do something screwy! :D

I'd toss it also. Sorry!

If it's any consolation, I made a pan of Layered Zucchini and put it on the counter to cool before refrigerating -- found it there in the morning:D
That really hurt since I had only used ONE portion.
But yes, you have to toss as others have said. I believe two hours unrefrigerated is the outside limit.
Now I don't feel so bad! :D I did toss it, but DH took some to work this morning. No adverse effects yet, but he seems to have a stomach made of iron!

OK, I'm the brave one...I'd probably eat it if your house isn't overly hot or humid. :o :o
You could always pick out the chicken and heat it in the microwave and then toss it all back in....
and you did say vinegar type dressing :D
