Orlando Area Supper Club

I am looking to start a supper club in the Orlando area. I currently live in Winter Garden - 10 miles West of downtown Orlando. We are fairly new to the area and love to cook and entertain. I live in Orlando, by Sea World Area, and would love to join you on this supper club. I was just reading my latest issue of Cooking Light and one of the feature articles is the cooking club in NY. I started looking for a club here in Orlando but I guess at this point, there isn't one. Let me know if you're still interested in forming a club.

Thank you for responding. I have only received one e-mail regarding the club and the group she belonged to in Orlando disbanded. As you said there is not one in Orlando. I was thinking about a couples supper club where we meet once a month at someones house. The details of how the dinner would go: the hostess cooks, or everyone brings a dish based on a theme, I am open to what ever.
Please let me know if the above sounds good and maybe we could get together and work out the details.

Maybe between the 3 of us, we can form a Supper Club here!! Getting together once a month sounds like a good plan though perhaps for the first meeting, we should meet somewhere neutral for dinner or for drinks (like Starbucks).

Getting together somewhere neutral sounds great. By the way how are you weathering this storm? I am in Atlanta visiting my parents so we are going to extend our trip until Tues. I guess based on the weather channel Orlando should be ok - besides the winds and rain, the eye should not hit us??
Let me know what you schedule looks like next week after all this business with the storm is over with. Sound good?!

Thank you all for responding to my post. The Orlando Supper Club is under way.
The first meeting of the club will be on Oct. 9th at a resturant in the Dr. Philips area. I will send you all the resturant name and time soon. Please bring your spouses and/or significant others even if they do not like to cook or just bring yourself. Either way we will have fun and great food.

Look forward to meeting everyone and putting together a fun and tasty club!!!!

Hello Everyone,

Thanks to Erin's initial post, the Orlando Supper Club will soon be off the ground!!

Since I live close to the Dr. Phillips area, I volunteered to scope out the place and pick a restaurant. I found a restaurant that's casual, serves great food and even better desserts. I've come to this restaurant several times so I hope you all like it too.

It's Cariera's Cucina Italiana at the north-west corner of Dr. Phillips and Sand Lake Rd. in the Alberson's plaza. Their website is http://www.carieras.com/ Feel free to check out their menu and their wine list online. There's also pictures of the restaurant and a map on the website.

If anyone is on the Atkin's diet or South Beach diet, Cariera's also serve several meat dishes.

So if you're interested in cooking or you just love food in general, come join us for the first meeting of the club. Bring your spouse, your signifcant other or just yourself. Either way, we'll have lots of fun, share great food and make new friends.

The reservations will be for Sat, Oct 9, 7pm under the name Erin. I'll probably be there early, hanging out at the bar. If you see an Asian girl, 5 feet tall, in her twenties, come and say hi!

Hopefully there is. I just moved to Minneola and would like very much to join a cooking club. I have a real love for cooking and would love to meet other who share that same passion. It looks like you all are going for a couples type club, unfortunately it is just me. I dont have a problem with this and wouldnt feel out of place. If everyone feels the same way I would like to be a part of your club.

Hi, I live in Winter Garden and was wondering if there are any cooking clubs still underway. Also wondering the number of people in each club, as I would not be very good at cooking for large groups, but love cooking for smaller groups. Couples groups sound great--my just married husband and I live in a small house in W.G.--nothing fancy but we love making Cooking Light recipes and we are also runners training for a marathon at the moment.
