We tried this last night. Very zippy! Just right on the heat, for us, but a friend who was over for dinner found it a tad too spicy. I'll probably cut it down to one chile for general audiences in the future and just have hot sauce at the table for the fire eaters. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

Thanks for the review...this reminded me that I want to make this dish!

I too thought this was wonderful. Make sure you turn your heat down low as the milk burned and stuck to the bottom on my pan. :-(

I really liked this recipe too, but I think I used too much pasta so it ended up sort of dry. I measured the pasta dry, and I think it ended up making more cooked pasta than CL suggested that it would. I should have measured it again after it was cooked before putting it all together.

rockydog--

Me, too, on the burnt pan. I think I was over-anxious to get it boiling and thickened, and the flour might have contributed to that, too. I'm definitely using my heat diffuser next time to protect my pan!

I thought this was just OK. I have five servings in the freezer and just am not really looking forward to them. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif

I'm thinking that I'm not loving the texture of the whole wheat noodles I added--maybe I cooked them too long? I think my whole problem with this is a really texture thing. I'm trying to be healthy and want to like whole wheat noodles--that counts for something right?

My whole family thought this was just a so-so recipe. I most likely wouldn't make it again.

Made this last night. Thought it was really tasty and quick. Burnt the HECK out of my Le Creuset pot. I tried to keep the heat low and stir, stir, stir. But no luck! Oh well...time to apply some elbow grease!

Next time, I think I'll add more diced tomatoes.

Wish I would have fished this old thread out before I went ahead and made this dish.

Yucky. I also used whole wheat cavatappi, but I think it was more the sauce that I didn't like. It was very floury tasting, not very cheesy. I ended up throwing 3/4 of the pan away. Oh well.

Grace -- what a riot! I am so sorry that you fell victim to this recipe!

When I saw this thread pop up, I thought, "Oh no! I hope no one made this!" As you can see, I tried to be diplomatic about this recipe...but I really thought it was terrible! :(
