New Supper Club Interests in Annapolis, Maryland area

Hi,my husband and I live in Arnold (just outside Annapolis, Maryland) and would like to start a monthly (rotating) supper club in the Annapolis area with other interested established professionals. We would rotate each month and meet in each others' homes. Please post your interests, then we can plan to meet at a local restaurant, chat and then share the entertaining in our homes.

The other idea is to alternate and meet at different restaurants at times as well for variety.

I might be interested in joining. I joined another club, but haven't heard from them in 2 months, so I'm supposing they disbanded. I am contacting them once more, and then I guess I'm open to join a different club!

Hi,what kind of foods/resturants do you both like? Mention some in the area~ we have lived in the area for a while and know several. We are open to most any kind of foods, except real spicy.

Curious about the other supper club, did you attend any events?

We like all kinds of food. We like trying new things, so we're up for pretty much anything. I don't eat veal and my husband doesn't like much shellfish. But other than that, we're pretty much willing to try anything. How about you guys?

Trying to think of restaurants we have tried... we're not very good at trying out new ones! I don't know why. We definitely don't have a favorite, that's for sure. We do like: Lista's (Pasadena), Harry Browne's (Annapolis) - but that was for a very special occasion!, and Sakura (Pasadena/Glen Burnie). We haven't found many more that I could say we like enough to want to go back to. We would definitely like to learn more about the restaurants in the area, we don't know much.

As for the other supper club - no, I didn't attend any events. I joined right after they met the first time, and they took the month of August off because of vacations. I had emailed with the person that started it, and she said that everybody okayed me joining up, and she would get back to me with the details of the next meeting. We emailed a number of times, and then she just stopped responding to my emails. So who knows. I'm moving on.

We live in severna park and our old group disbanded would really love to get another one going. We used to meet once month and would rotate from house to house. Whoever hosted did the entree and the others brought the rest. Usually the hoster would send out 3 menus and we would all vote and pick one. we are pretty adventurous and love most things. the only thing I do not eat is mushrooms and I can pretty much pick around other stuff. Our best night to meet is saturday or sunday. Would love to hear from you all.

Hi, any one interested in meeting one morning, say in Severna Park at Corky's Coffee Shop (next to Joanne Fabrics)next Sat, Nov 13 at 9:00 am to just meet and say "hi". My thoughts are to get an idea on some food interests, maybe plan an upcoming Sat eve event? I know the holidays are upon us, but perhaps we can find one free Sat to start off.

Would love to do that but I work on Saturday mornings, I am usually done by 12 or so or could do sunday morning after water aerobics. Would really like to do a meet though.

Hi there. We can do Saturday morning, but not til around 11. Perhaps we should just make it a bit later so that everyone can attend? Is it going to be just us, or are we bringing spouses?

How will we know each other? (since I don't know your real names! ;) ).

I would love to do it later too. The best way to recognise each other is to bring the latest issue of Cooking light easy to spot.

How about we meet at one o'clock and have our Cooking Light magazine with us so we can identify each other. Sunday does not work for me this week.

My thoughts are perhaps just the ladies, we can plan something and have the spouses meet then. Or, if you want spouses this time, then they can chat and mingle too! It really doesn't matter one way or the other to me. Just post your preference before Sat.

1:00 sounds good to me. As for the spouses, we could do it either way. Might be easier just to meet the ladies first, and have the guys meet at a later date. I don't care either way. But whatever is the consensus, we'll go along with.

Hey, sorry about not checking in here sooner, but just got extremly busy with work, etc. I am taking on a new project with my job and will not have the extra time to continue on. It is so difficult these days to do it all.

Perhaps in the Spring, for me, I am going to have to pull out from here for now. Just not enought free time to plan all this.

I came to the bulletin board looking for a supper club and was excited to see that a group in my area was starting to form...and then I read all of the messages. We are all busy but should make a resolution to enjoy life, meet other people with similar interests, and make 2005 the year that we expand our horizons. Let me know if you are interested in getting together to meet, discuss, plan, etc. I want to help make this work! My husband and I live in Pasadena and would love to get involved in a group nearby.
