Is anyone interested in starting a new supper club (or is there one already out there?) on the northwest side of Atlanta (around I-75 north of 285?) I live in Acworth/Kennesaw & would like to find or start a club. Let me know whose interested!

I'm interested.

Our supper club kind of fizzled out about a year ago. I'm in West Cobb just a tad south of you.

I was in a club in Buckhead but when I moved to N Cobb it was just too far to go.
Are you interested in trying to start another one up on this side of town? (i.e. N of 285?) although I suppose it doesn't matter where someone lives if they are interested in getting together on the NW side of Atlanta!

Yes, I'd like to do another one.

We had couples in town, in Marietta, Decatur, and Tucker. Kind of all over the place. Ours was couples and we would bring prepared food. The host couple provided the wine & main dish. We went from the hostess picking the whole menu and people signing up for dishes to the hostess picking the theme and people signing up for courses and finding their own recipe. Both those options were fine with us. Sometimes we'd just agree to meet at a resturant in town.

Personally, I'd like to do something where we cook together. I do like the idea of including DH/SO's even if they only show up to eat. :D I'm pretty flexible.

The problem mine had was the hostess would pick the date of our get-together (rather than having a set day, like 4th Thurs of the month). We ended up not getting together very often because we never knew what the date would be.

We set it up w/the hostess picking the theme & providing main course (or everyone arrived & helped cook the main course). Each person chose if they wanted to bring appetizer, side dish, wine or desert & would then bring their own recipe. We would then send out a list of the recipes everyone had used afterwards. And if someone couldn't host, we would just meet at a resturant.
We had Spouses/significant others a couple times - at Christmas and cookout in the summer. Usu it was just the girls although I know my husband would love to do this. I'm fine either way with that.

I do like the idea of cooking something together - it may not work to do it every time but I think it would be fun!

We had a set day of the month, but we did weekends vs weeknights since it was couples and easier to find a babysitter. :D We did the 1st Saturday of the month, but DH thinks that doing something every other month might be easier for people's busy schedules. I guess it depends on how many people are intersted.

I have a friend in Kennesaw who's interested (she's a Supper Club Newbie) but her husband would only be periodically interested. Weekend nights work great for me since I do travel some during the week.

I haven't seen anyone else post a reply yet - I guess if we have a small group it will be easy to cook together! :0

I have another BB friend in Dunwoody who might be interested. Even if we just have 3 or 4 people we could try to get something started.

I agree - even if we only started w/3 or 4 people it would certainly give us room to add more if any were interested.
Do you think we should get together sometime soon to work out the details of how/when to get this started? Maybe meet at a resturant or something?

I didn't forget.

I was waiting on a response from my friend, but she lost power for 3 days due to Francis. I haven't heard from her yet, so it's probably safe to assume she's not interested or just too busy right now.

I think meeting at a resturant would be a good way to start. When & where?

Hi,
I live in the Smyrna/Vinings area and want to start a supper club. I can do once a month. I guess weekends are easier for most. I'm flexible. I'll join y'all for your first meeting at whatever restaurant (if it's not on Thursday nights) Just let me know!

Hey. I just your post for a supper club in NW Atlanta. I live pretty close to Vinnings and I would love to be in a supper club! I am pretty flexible about meeting, I could do weekends or a weeknight. If y'all haven't met yet, let me know! I'd love to get together sometime soon. Hope I'm not late!

Sorry!! I've been at a conference in Pittsburgh for the past 10 days and couldn't access the Internet fr my hotel room. I'm back in atlanta now and am glad to see there's more folks interested.

Since it appears most are pretty flexible about weekdays/weekends, etc, I propose we meet maybe 1 night next week to discuss exactly how we want to structure our club, how often to meet, when, etc.

Is there 1 night next week thats better or worse for everyone? I'm very flexible. I note someone has said Thursdays aren't good. I have plans Fri nite, so that leaves Mon, Tues, Wed or Sat. Any resturant suggestions? I was thinking maybe someplace close to 285 on 75 to accomodate those coming fr Vinings.

I would love to get together next week! I can do any night that works for everyone else, although I too would prefer no thursdays. I can meet anytime after 5:30.

How about this coming tuesday evening (the 21st)? 6 or 6:30ish? is that too early? Someone else pick the place :)

PS. I don't have internet access at my apt. right now, so I won't be able to check the board this weekend, but I can be there whenever you guys decide. See yall next week!

It seems Thurs & Fri are out so Meryl suggested next Tues at 6 or 6:30. Any suggestions for dinner locations? I was thinking of Papasito's or Papadeux right off Delk (or is it Windy Hill?). I dont know many places off 75 below Barrett Pkwy so someone else feel free to offer suggestions!

Both are fine. If we got early in the week we should have to worry about a wait. Neither place takes reservations.

Meryl,
LOL!

Pappadeaux & Pappasitos share a parking lot.

Take I-285 N to I-75 N

Take the Windy Hill exit.

Go Right at the end of the ramp.

The resturants will be on your right, very near the interstate.

How about 6:15 at Pappasito's??? I'll try to get there a little early and get our name in and will wait near the hostess. I'll put our name in as the Supper Club - so use that when you check in at the hostess. Hopefully, the hostess can help us get together. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
