I am interested in joining/starting a supper club in Raleigh, NC. Does anyone know of one that already exists or who would like to start one with me?

Actually, several of us in the area had tried to get one started just recently. You can see the details if you pull up conversations from the last two weeks. We tried to get together to meet but most folks didn't respond or couldn't make it.
Glad you posted so hopefully we can get this idea off the ground this time.
What day(s) of the week would be best for y'all?

I don't really know what it entails... but I would be interested in doing a once-a-month supperclub... Any excuse to meet new people and cook is okay by me.

My wife and I are still interested in being part of a club. I'd be happy to host at any time once we get the basics down. Maybe we could meet at a restaurant or Starbucks or... someplace central for the first meeting.

Well... why don't we try to all get together sometime... those still interested. It would be good to get together for coffee sometime in the next few weeks. Maybe we can plan the first dinner for after the holidays are over... it would be a nice way to spring back from the holiday drainage that our brains and bodies seem to experience every year.
Saturday morning, Monday or Tuesday afternoons are best for me... but, I am not free until after the 30th.

Only time that's not good for me is Saturday morning, I have a class. Weekdays after five is fine.

It seems that everytime one person can't make a meeting we just stop there. It only takes 6 or 8 people to get a club going and we've had more interest in a Raleigh start up than that. If everyone would email me I would be happy to get the ball rolling. There are a lot of nice restaurants in Briar Creek which would be central to most of the Raleigh area. Make it a Saturday evening for an inexpensive dinner perhaps something like Panera Bread and we'll have a chance to meet each other over dinner. Or, we can meet at my house (Garner) and do a pot-luck meal. Those that can't make the first meeting can join at a later date. Something towards the second week of November so we can work around the holidays but not miss out on getting together during the holidays. If anyone is interested drop me an email.

Can we make the first meeting on November 18th?? I would really like to be there for it.
There is a Panera Bread at Briar Creek, in front of the Walmart. Or, there are several restaurants on the otherside of Briar Creek also.
Thanks, Kerry

Our first meeting will be at Panera Bread on Saturday, November 18th at Brier Creek, Alexander Promenade section, at 6:00 pm. Bring your thoughts and ideas so we can have great fun with food and make new friends.

Hi,
I live in Danville, VA (~1h from Durham) and am new to this region. I'd love to join a supper club to meet new people & possibly share great food. I'm not sure that I will be able to attend on the 18th due to out of town guests but, I'd like to be considered for future gatherings. Weekend meetings are best for me in the future. Please keep me posted. I'm VERY interested.

PS: I hope that you won't exclude those of us who live in the sticks...

Only 4 people agreed to meet at this time so the first gathering will be postponed. If you would like to be a part of this supper club please drop me an email and I'll pass the information on to the others.

Hey all,
I'm sorry to hear that you decided to cancel for the 18th. My husband and I were interested and joining (and were planning on coming out on the 18th), but I only just got access to post a reply today.
If you want to reconsider, that would give us 6 (and who knows, there might be others that also didn't have access to respond)... it might be enough to at least get the ball rolling so we could have our first supper sometime after the holidays.

Hey Jackie and all,
If there's anyone else who's interested but can't post or e-mail on this site for some reason, go ahead and send me a message to my normal e-mail address so we can include you in the conversations about getting the group together. saserre@netzero.net.
Then we can communicate quicker than posting back and forth.

Hi Jackie, Sharon, et al:
I'm very interested in starting a cooking club in the Triangle &/or Piedmont... Did you guys ever settle on a follow up date after the apparent cancellation of the 11/18 meeting? How about this weekend? I know that it's short notice but, no time like the present (especially w/ the holiday bustle). Hopefully, we can get at least four people together to plan for a post holiday gathering. I think that once we get the ball rolling, others will jump in. There definitely seems to be enough folks interested out there. Please email me at my regular email if interested (saves time.) How about some time on Saturday 12/9 or Sunday afternoon 12/10?
