Hello all!
Is there anyone out there in the RI area who has a Supper Club and wants a new member? Or maybe there are others who would like to start a club. I'm 24 years old, a dietitian and I would love to meet new people who love to cook and eat healthy foods! Looking forward to the responses!

I would love to start or join a supperclub as well. Providence is only an hour away from me so if there are folks in the central massachusetts/RI areae\ who would like to get involved we might get a critical mass of members. I just found an amzing mom and pop jamaican restaurant last night and would love to share my other favorites in the central mass area. What do you think?

Would love to join a supper club already in existance or be part of starting one. Would love to do that as with other women or with couples (my husband also enjoys eating!) I am in Tiverton, about 1/2 hour from Providence(where I work daily). Am new to RI so would enjoy meeting other folks here.

I like most kinds of food - love ethnic, don't do pork, my husband has a dairy allergy.

Sounds great ladies! I've tried to make a contact with an already estabished group but I haven't heard anything yet. How about we wait a little longer, see what other kind of interest there is and then get going?
I also enjoy all cuisines and a co-ed group is fine with me. I'm not an avid chef - I've only been cooking for myself for a short time so I'm hoping to learn something from everyone!

Hello! I have seen a couple of threads for RI/Prov. Supper Clubs. My husband and I are very interested. We live on the East Side and would enjoy meeting new friends while learning to cook healthy meals. Would love to hear the status of things and how we can (hopefully) get started!

Thank you!!

HI!
I want everyone who's interested to know that if someone is willing to spear head the club by all means please do. I posted the first thread but I don't need to be the "leader". As a matter of fact I would prefer someone else set up the first meeting because I've just started planning my wedding and it's taken on a life of it's own! Although I would still love to be involved if someone else wants to take the lead by all means please do so.

Hi Katie,

I too have been interested in a supper club in this area, and have seen a few threads started regarding one, and expressed interest. I am more than willing to get one started since you are no doubt swamped with wedding plans, i just need a dew weeks to get the details worked out.

So, for anyone else who is also interested in a supper club in the providence area, I am in Warwick, a few minutes south and would love to see how many people out there are also interesed in being a part of one. To get the ball rolling, I suggest a monthly club, one night a week, at rotating homes, with varying themes,(such as Spanish tapas one month, French bistro the next and so on). Feel free to make more suggestions or contact me, so we can get this started. Hope to hear from some of you soon!

Hi Everyone,

It's nice to finally see a thread on the formation of a Supper Club in the RI area.
I was part of a Supper Club here for approx. 2 yrs. It disbanded slowly as people moved out of state, had babies etc. We were a couples group, however a few of our memebers came solo and it was a lot of fun. We rotated homes and met either monthly or every other depending on schedules. The key is to have a good size group as there will always be someone who can't make it at a particular time.
The person who hosted the dinner was responsible for the main course/theme. We brought appetizers, side dishes, desserts to compliment the main course.
Perhaps we could find a place to meet and discuss our ideas and how we would like to operate the supper club.

Elizabeth, Katie, and anyone else interested:

So glad to hear from more Ri foodies...I will be back in RI on Mon, Nov. 1 , and would like to meet others before the holiday madness begins, even if we don't have our first dinner until after. I'm not sure where you are all coming from but we could either pick a relative mid-point, like coffeeshop in a bookstore, or I am willing to have you over at my house, if it would be closer or more convienient. Those who are interested, leave a message for me with this message board, or you can email me : crewshele99@yahoo.com.

Hope to hear from you soon!

I live off of Wickenden St. in Providence. There are a couple of coffee shops on my street, also in Wayland Square. The Starbucks there has a large area with couches. I don't mind travelling either though.

Anywhere will work for me, however, I work in Boston, and my train doesn't get into Providence until 6:45, so later in the evening would work better for me, or on a weekend. Let me know, I'm looking forward to it.

Hello everyone,

My name is Pam Walsh and I noticed all your postings regarding a RI supper club. I was wondering if you might be interested in a wine tasting at one of your meetings?

I am a Wine Consultant for The Traveling Vineyard and I do home wine tastings for groups of 10-20 people. I provide the wine, glasses and everything needed for the wine tasting.

The wines are from all over the world and they are excellent! I have a great job, because I get to meet new people and teach them about wine.

If you are interested please let me know. It's a very casual atmosphere and it's really FUN! Everyone has a great time!

I really enjoy my job!

My email is winesathome@comcast.net

We have yet to have an initial meeting b/c I have only heard from 2 people...I was hoping to get as many interested parties as possible to set up a meeting. Anyone who can meet on a Saturday, late morning at a coffee shop/book store, please e-mail me at crewshele99@yahoo.com, and the best weekend for them, (with Christmas approaching and all).
