View Full Version : Can you still get CD multi-cases that hold liners and CDs?

Now that I have a nanny, I am finally finding time to get the house together (i.e. dig out from two years of new twins). My task yesterday was to dig through piles of CD plastic cases, organize and put them in CD multi-cases that I bought years ago. You know, those cases that have sleeves in them that hold like 30 CDs. Our old ones were made by Caselogic.
Well, we need a couple more and I went to look and the new ones look really cheap. The pages are really flimsy webbed cloth and they do not have a side to hold liner notes, only CDs. Surely, there must be some people out there who want to have their notes with their CDs, to find the song list or just info about the music. I throw the plastic cases away, so I need to keep the notes somewhere.
Anyone know where you can get them? TIA!

I haven't seen any cases that store the notes, too. You're right about most holders being cheap. If you find any nice ones, let us know!
I have a hard case in my car, and a smaller cloth case that zips up. It holds about 15 cds, and I got it at IKEA for $1. I carry my cds and portable player to school to listen to in my art studio classes that are 3 hours long. Then my cds are available in the car for the commute. All my notes are in the jewel cases in those cd holders made of wine boxes. I store those in my entertainment armoire. My DH won't let me throw the cases away.
I would check places like Best Buy for storage ideas.

My question is, why do you throw the cases away? Don't the cd's get scratched or otherwise damaged? It took me forever to locate a cd case that holds a quantity of cd's with the jewel cases.
I know that when cd's were first introduced, they were thought to be indestructible and last forever. We now now that isn't true!!! (what? The manufacturer's lied??!! :p )

You don't move much, do you? :D I finally moved my collection to a zipper-case style and got rid of the jewel cases, in anticipation of my upcoming move. CDs take up significantly less room in a zipper case than they do in their jewel cases.
Why would a CD be any more likely to be scratched up if it has a home in a non-jewel case holder? I tend to put my CDs away even more religiously if the notebook-style holder is there, than if I have to hunt for its jewel case.
