Ugh, when it rains it pours.

My cousin is getting married tomorrow, and my entire family (2 parents, 4 sisters 1 BIL, 1 sister's boyfriend and 1 yellow lab) are decending on my house. This is fine. I have Sister/BIL/dog and 2 other sisters staying here. Everyone else is staying in a hotel.

We had a babysitter lined up to watch DD during the wedding and reception tomorrow, and she called me today - she has the flu. Can't babysit. I appreciate her calling me and can certainly understand that she's not up to caring for a very active 9 month old baby but it still leaves me in a lurch.

And I have been getting sick for the past few days. My throat is sore and I have been sneezing and coughing and just generally feeling cruddy.

And I have all of my family coming over to my house tomorrow morning for brunch, so I'm home cooking right now while everyone else is out to dinner (DD is in bed).

Ugh. I'm just whining. Now, I need to check the ham, make a crust for the quiche and get the french toast ready.

:)

Unfortunately I can't go anywhere tonight right now anyway because I'm home alone with the baby.

My sister is in charge of the quiche - I just thought I'd try and get the crust done while they're at dinner.

Gotta go, baby is crying.

So Lara, how did your weekend go? I hope you were able to work out the babysitter dilemma, that your cold is better, and that you enjoyed the time with your family. :)

Kathryn, thanks for asking. :)

The brunch was great - everyone was very complimentary on all the food, and everything, so it was good. I have a ton of food left over. It was nice to see all the family, and there were (mostly) no fights, so that was good. Natalie was a little overwhelmed at the whole thing and all the new people, she only wanted to be with me.

I'm feeling a little better. My sore throat is better but I'm still pretty congested and still have a cough. I was afraid it was turning into bronchitis, but maybe not.

We ended up just taking Natalie to the wedding with us. She ate cheerios during the whole thing, so she was quiet ;) but didn't really nap all day and so we didn't stay for the reception. Oh well. We were joking that while everyone else was eating filet mignon and chilean sea bass that DH and I were eating grilled cheese sandwiches.

Natalie was also baptized yesterday. That went well, and was nice that the whole family was there for it.

All the company was gone by this morning. TOday I'm cleaning the house and doing LOTS of laundry :D

Oh, good - it sounds like everything went well. And that filet mignon was probably overcooked anyway - I'm sure your grilled cheese was much better! ;) :D
