View Full Version : Quick Cooking Barley
I was trying to find this at Albertsons yesterday to no avail. Has anyone bought this product? I cook with regular barley, but I wanted to make the Mushroom-Barley Pilaf with Spinach . I could use pearl barley and increase the cook time, but worry that the mushrooms would suffer. Any thoughts?

Emdg,
I usually use regular barley also. I will cook it seperately and add it to a recipe instead. Good luck!

Just to let you know what you might be looking for - the quick cooking barley that I buy is made by Quaker and comes in a VERY small box (much smaller than a box of rice). It's not available at all stores. I even have a hard time finding it at the store at which they do carry it because the box is so small! I sometimes find regular barley in bags.

don't assume anything about barley. It is an item tthat grocery stores love to taunt you with. I have found itt with cereal, with bouillion, withw rice and beans. If you ask someone they won't know what it is

I found it at Albertson's yesterday. It was on the aisle with the soups. I really had to look, it was down near the bottom of the shelves. Now, this is assuming that all Albertson's are set up the same.
